Priority 10 is the lowest a dealer can make a retail order vehicle before any overrides.
10 is better than 11, 11 is better than 12.

01 is the top priority, but requires manual override.
Thanks for the information!

Does the dealer choose that? What would it mean if it was priority 19?

my vin is 00145 build 9/23. I think the exec and vips are included in those 1st couple weeks, and then those that could justify to the reps that they are going to show them off

seems plausible
Plausible, but who is to say?
True, who is to say?. Fact is I am still waiting to hear back from Detroit after being confirmed on the VIP list by the National Allocation Manager. Would love to be in the first week of production, but I fully understand the importance of initial retail sales on this vehicle. It will be difficult to find high level Ford Execs or VIPs that would intentionally bully their way to the front of the Shelby line on this particular build.

Regardless, I love the excitement of seeing others moving through the process as all initial 2020 Shelby GT500 pre-order buyers are true fanatics and committed Ford Fans. I am content with being patient and enjoy hearing the perspective and/or rationalization of others.

BTY, early VIN Numbers could have been used for the pre-production cars. I do know where VIN 001 when to... :handsinair:

Nothing. Especially if you are the only order of that specific line. Then you would be the first order when the Allocation is in order. Less than 10 is issued by Detroit to expedite a build under special conditions. A Priority Code 01 is not required to have your car built, only to get in front of others.

19? Those are rookie numbers! I'm at 70ish and the best I found was 10k ADM or literally putting my name in a hat. From what I've read here, people with MSRP deals either have prior relationships with the dealer or are flying cross country. Some also ordered early, before every dealer knew what was up.
Exactly

I was doing the math earlier, and thinking about who we know has vins and builds. most are people that will take the cars out to be used and shown off in some form of advertising.

Its been said, and i dont know, but they can build 9 gt500/day

Not to insult your intelligence, but here's the math & it works out
M-F=5
5x9 45
9/9
9/16
9/23
45x3 135

my vin is 00145 build 9/23. I think the exec and vips are included in those 1st couple weeks, and then those that could justify to the reps that they are going to show them off

I agree with your assessment. I also have talked to people in the know and the number 9 was also given to me. Thats assuming the Discombobulator in the factory doesn't break down. LOL

9x5x52 only gets 2340 built in a year and they have said that they are doing 5000. I will definitely buy that they will only do 9 a day the first month to get the bugs out but after that they will speed up production to get to the 5000. knowing how most places do production they will do about 30% of total possible throughput the first month then bump up to 60% for the next 2 months maybe one if they have no kinks in the process. Then after the first 3 months they will go to 80% of throughput for remainder so after the first of the year I would bet they are putting out 100-110 a week my guess

Sept/Oct - 45 a week for an ~total of 275
Nov/Dec - 90 a week minus Xmas shutdown for an ~total of 450
Jan and beyond till build complete on 2020 model and revamp line for 2021 model 450 a month

That schedule will have them finished right around the first of September of 2020. to start building 2021 in October

I think the engine will be the limiting factor when it comes to production, they can only build so many engines a day and the GT500 engine is hand assembled at the Ford Romeo Engine Plant. They also produce all the GT350 engines.

That is most likely why that are reducing the GT350 production for 2020.

Unless things have changed a great deal typically all pre-production cars (TT, PP and MP) have their own VIN series and chassis numbers which would have nothing to do with the regular production cars VIN's and chassis numbers.

Also keep in mind that early VIN's do not necessarily translate to early builds as many cars with older VIN's sometimes get built with an early chassis number.

With respect to Ford execs or VIP's intentionally bullying their way to the front of the lines it is just a fact of life that this will happen based on the Dearborn allocation team and their influence with the FR production scheduling team.

Whether it base the launch of the 2007 GT500, 2012 Boss 302 LS or the 2015 GT350R it has always been common practice for either the Ford family or the Ford execs to get their cars first and suggest that this will happen with the launch of the 2020 GT500 as well.

Who do you think got "F0001" which was the first 2015 GT350R as it obviously went to the Ford family.

I remember locating and driving "HR001" which was Jamal Hameedi's 2017 R model and was built way back in February 2016 which obviously was the first R model built for the 2017MY and interestingly the VIN ended in "003".

All depending when you were selected and confirmed on the VIP list for a 2020 GT500 there may be a good chance that your build may get pushed up on the pecking order so don't be surprised if that happens.

Hopefully you were able to secure a CFTP option for your car assuming that you wanted it?

Have you received your VIP paperwork yet? You know, the one where you express intent and sign the contract to not sell for 3 years and/or give Ford right of first refusal?

I did receive a call yesterday from dealer, Ford Performance Rep, is turning my order over first week of September for schedule and build. I at least will get a build before they shutdown for winter. Estimated a early/mid October build, delivery by mid November.

Yes. Rapid Red, CFTP, Technology Package and OTT Oxford White Stripe.

I have not seen nor been asked to sign one yet.

Checked with the local dealership yesterday who once again confirmed I was one of three pending incremental VIP allocations and we are awaiting scheduling confirmations from Detroit. During a brief tour, I drooled over a Ford GT and 1 of 3 Shelby 50th Anniversary Wide-Body Super Snakes sitting on the showroom floor. I am guessing there were 10 Shelby GT350s, 2 GT350Rs, 5 Shelby Raptors, several Saleens and a couple of Tuscany Black Ops Trucks on the main lot. Again, they are the largest Shelby retailer in the US, having 6 of 8 remaining GT500 allocations and buying more.
