Seniors: Mods you wouldn't do

My 305's on the rear don't exactly line up with the fenders they stick out. I sort of like that they do but at the same time I don't like that they do rub when I take turns really sharp.

57 here. I much prefer the understated look. Like the Bullitt minus the rear panel. V6 owner here so I am in the vast minority.... I started simple with a base model, no trunk mounted blade spoiler for the cleanest look. Obliviously no 5.0 badges (I know...no 5.0 engine) or hood vents. I don.t track or drag, like paying for 87 octane and pounding the retirement accounts.

As far a mods simple and clean:
Stereo - all JL, amps, speakers and sub (clean dynamic sound, you won't hear me from a block away)
Wheels - American Racing AMR in 18 x 9 (gloss black)with 255/45 rubber, no poke
Grill - Dusold Design mesh grill, 6" driving lights behind
Rear panel - gloss black sans badge
Engine - stock with valve cover breathers
Intake - Velosa Tech Big Mouth, drop in filter, modular intake tube
Exhaust - GT with H-pipe, Ford Performance Touring (pleasing deep rumble for a V6)
Rear seat delete - homemade on the cheap

To do list - up grade the dampers to get rid of the float, minor drop in the front as the wheel gap is 3/8" more in front. Going for the stock GT350 wheel gap look.

As an almost senior at 53, excessive poke always makes me think the car has improperly sized wheels and ruins the flow. I don't like the majority of aftermarket chrome wheels for this gen Mustang. Machined and/or painted look better to me. A set of classic Cragers on an older car, maybe. Supersize wheels and stancing, heck no! I love lowered cars. The only reason mine is stock height is the headaches which accompany lower ride height.

I actually prefer mods that someone could mistake for factory parts or actual factory parts. With mine, the closer you look the more you see. I have done a lot of small things that add up and I think are consistent with the character of the car.

Had to google "VIP" as a car style to find out what you were getting at . . . showing my age, I guess.

Appearance themes carried to extremes for the shock value are by definition "anti-mainstream", even within the car hobby. Visually disproportionate or clashing with no saving grace in improved performance.

I'm 76. The only mods I like are performance related.... except loud exhaust. I am hearing impaired, so I can't really hear loud exhaust very well, but what I can hear tends to be annoying. I don't mind a little spoiler, like the PP1. But, not into any other cosmetic mods.

I bought my 2015 Mustang used a few months ago and although I am close to the Senior age the dealer told me the previous owner had a children who outgrew the car so assume he was not in the senior category. The car only had 5k miles on it so it seemed he spent more time adding bling than actually driving it. There were pony stickers everywhere and carbon fiber. But the main thing that should have never been done was the stainless steel Mustang overlay. Looked worse in person than in the picture.

I mentioned I hated it during the negotiations however and the dealer gave me credit for replacing the side skirts. I took the money and when I got home I simply peeled them off. So they ended up saving me some extra money.

This photo is after removing a pony logo behind the door handle and another under the 5.0 badge. Carbon fiber mirror covers and louvers still attached and the badly done tinted windows with air bubbles still remain.
