I take it that your dealer is a Golden Ticket holder. I know some of the guys don't like the term but that is the term they use so I don't get why they find it offensive. I doubt seriously I will get my painted stripes as I ordered them but my guy is a small dealer and doesn't have the magic ticket. I was told by very reliable sources that this will be the first time that Ford does the painted stripes. Wouldn't it be a hoot if you got the car and was quite dissapointed in how they did the stripes. LOL

Yeah, I’m pretty sure your dealer needs that “Golden Ticket” for both the CFTP and the Painted Stripes. I figured at this point I’d go “All In”!

Bill; From your avatar it looks like you have a really beautiful collection of some really nice high end cars. Obviously, you have done well in life. I still hold out some hope that the painted stripes won't be so popular as the CFTP but no one knows how the orders are coming in and so I'll just keep waiting. If I could be granted a simple wish I wish I knew how the orders were rolling in and how many painted stripes have been ordered. Many guys have told me they feel they are way over priced and not worth the money when you can get the vinyl stripes $9,000 less. It is a good point so I guess we'll see.

INSINUATING that there is a RIGHT and a WRONG way to buy the GT500. Yea , I guess its all about who you know - the old adage.

It's just coming to a head against a new adage, a new world, faceless , 1s and zeroes, where the $$$ value is the $$$ value ... my $97k shouldn't be worth more than someone else's $97k?

Good Luck Chuck! I hope it all works out for you. For me, this will be my first "New" Sports Car, and probably my only one. My first car was a 67 Mustang that I paid $100 for and I've loved the Mustang ever since.

Did the deed a few days ago. I put in for the painted stripes and have my fingers crossed I can get the allocation. If not I plan to switch the color to twister orange with painted black roof.
