Well yeah, 1250 CFTP is actually a decent amount. That’s over twice the hand built Acura NSX Yearly.

Fun fact, Jay called the NSX the best built modern car. I’ve been behind the wheel of one, can’t complain much about what he said. Being a drivers car though, different story there.

Does anyone know the difference between priority codes I see some 10 and some 19?

I have had Priority Code 10 for many of my cars over the last 10 years or so but there are so many factors that go into when your car is going to be built it is almost impossible to determine if a priority code means anything at all.

One thing I do find is that in many cases Canada will get some very early cars and not sure if that is based on winter coming early or just pure luck?

I remember a good friend of mine from Nova Scotia ordered a 2016 R model from a very small dealership in Halifax with him getting chassis "GR043" and that same year when I ordered an R model from a dealership in B.C. I received "GR107" that now resides in Phoenix.

Another couple of examples was when a small dealership in Saskatchewan ordered a 2017 R and got chassis number "HR013" with that car going to my cousin in Alberta and that same year I ordered an R from another small dealership in Manitoba and ended up with chassis number "HR019".

Typically the first ~10 cars each MY are reserved for either the Ford family and/or Ford execs as was the case with "HR001" going to Jamal Hameedi.

HR013? Is that the ruby red, stripe less black roof?

I have pictures of that car I think. Jubilee isn’t small, it sells 22-24 350s a year and three Rs or more.

To qualify for a— “golden ticket” —that means being able to order CFTP
Ford dealer had to sell TWO Shelby gt350’s in the past qualifying period, if not then no allocation.
To qualify for the gt500 program dealers had 30 days to pony(ha ha) up 2,000 dollars,doing so gives dealer one, that’s ONE, I , gt350 and one gt500. So with maybe 5,000 gt500’s being built and with 25% being cftp and maybe 2800 gt350’s planned and how many dealerships are there and how many signed up for the Shelby program??Doing the math multiple allocations will be like unicorns(IMO)(I Hope not, but know better). AND FYI— went thru this with the 78 Indy pace car corvette— dealerships buy the car from manufacturers, the manufacturer gets paid and for all they care dealership can push the car into the ocean. Now if you have a signed purchase order that’s a contract and if dealership fails to sell you said car one can sue to be made whole. ie dealership has to find you a car or pay you $$$. Like it or not that’s how it is. Now that’s from personal experience, is ,was my dealership lying to me- hope this helps and not looking to kick a hornets nest.

Much of that is correct. The whole allocation system is based upon previous sales, as a matter of fact, very similar to how dealers were awarded R's previously. This whole "golden ticket" isn't some mythical free pass that is stumbled upon. The allocations for CFTP are awarded to dealerships based upon previous sales. Does anyone know of any dealership who did not sign up for the Shelby program? In the '16 model year, a dealer could go to his computer, order an R model, and provide a customer with an order confirmation number regardless of whether that dealer had an allocation or not. Ford changed the ordering system to prevent that. There must be an allocation for the order to be successful. I confirmed this with my dealership today helping a friend out. Some of the reports of people having thier CFTP orders denied are because the system is doing what it is supposed to do, which is prevent unauthorized orders. It sounds to me like some dealers out there made deals before the order banks open that never would be honored. Bummer. The lesson I learned from the GT350 buying process is that larger dealers who sell more mustangs, get more GT350 allocations. The more GT350 allocations, the more R allocations. This same model holds true again moving forward, where the R is the CFTP equivalent.

So if you have an order confirmation for a CFTP, you should be set (that is unless the dealer starts with the funny business).

And speaking of the funny business..... As for the lawsuit part, yes a lot of that is true. What you speak of is specific performance. You have to hire a lawyer, and must have a very specific contract. All that said, anybody can sue for anything and there are no guarantees of any outcome.

Total radio silence... not happy. Might have to start a new search, which is going to be difficult at this point I fear. If anyone passes on an MSRP deal, let me know!

I hope it works out. I went through a similar situation, however it worked out. Don't give up, but I'm afraid we will be hearing more stories like this in the near future.

Thanks Tomster! Definitely not giving up. I just don’t get the silence. Either way let a guy know. I know he has the allocation. He emailed me EVERYTHING along the way, including forwarding me emails from his zone rep.

You can bet your ass if this does fall thru, I’ll be putting him and his dealership on blast. I’ve got numerous emails from him stating it’s mine at MSRP. Sold my GT350 a few months ago in preparation for this.

I suggest speaking with your attorney for a consultation. You would have to sue for specific performance. You would have to have damages. In this case damages would be the cost and time it took you to find the same exact car for whatever price was agreed upon. So if you get stuck paying a large ADM, that would be your damages to be made whole again.

Don't drop the lawyer or lawsuit thing on them until you get professional advice. I married a lawyer, but I am not one.

I hope your deal closes as well. I would not sell anything, if possible, until you have 500 keys in hand. For the right price a 350
will sell fast, remember a car is not a investment its a hobby.

Not going to lie, he submitted it and it was not rejected. Not sure why others have been rejected and some have not. To be honest this whole Golden Ticket has gotten out of hand. It's also not a large California dealer either. He will confirm with his regional Ford Rep on Monday when he shows up to the dealership. But for now it looks good and I believe he should get the DORA tomorrow, which would give me a warm and fizzy... lol

Please let us know when you hear as I too ordered the Painted Stripes. So since you ordered both "Options" that are what I can the "Restricted List" that only goes to 1,250 cars it will be interesting to see if you get those 2 options. I don't want to start a shitstorm but I really don't like the way Ford does this whole thing. A person is willing to spend this kind of money and still can't even get the particular options that he wants. Not trying to start a bitch session but they are limiting this whole thing to 5,000 cars so why not let people order it the way they want it????? You would THINK that FORD would want 5,000 Happy Customers.

THANK YOU SCOTTX. I found your post very interesting. While 1,250 may seem like a big number to some to me its just the opposite. I feel that 1,250 number will be filled quite quickly and as true in life the little dealers like mine will not get the 2 highly desirable options. The funny thing is I didn't even want the CFTP but I DO WANT the PAINTED STRIPES. But probably won't get them even though we put them in on the order. My order has not been rejected but Iam told that means nothing at this point in the game. The other funny (strange) thing that I find in reading all the posts on this board the number of guys that actually want and are willing to spend the money ($10,000) on the Painted Stripes seems like a VERY SMALL NUMBER. Now if that holds true thru out the entire country (think of it as a small sampling -us guys) then I would think that maybe the painted stripes won't sell as fast as I think. The other thing that bothers me is how long is Ford going to give these dealers to "MAKE UP THEIR MIND" on what they are going to order??????? Doesn't Ford need to know so they can get the factory ready????? It would be extremely interesting to know how many of those 5,000 orders has Ford received so far and how many took the painted stripes. Now if I knew that answer I would really be a smart man!!!!!!

I thought the same thing happened to me. Multiple unreturned emails and I thought he totally ghosted me. Ended up that he went on a long fishing trip and reassured me that the allocation was mine.
