Mine locks regardless of key in or out of the car, however i think it's on a time delay depending how you do it. I think you can even lock using the remote while sitting in there car and it does it instantly.

Yeah because I was sitting there thinking how the heck does that lock? I only have the two little handles on either side and not a locking mechanism to be seen lol

That’s all that my convertible has, too, but I tried this yesterday with the top down so I could reach in and try opening the console and it was locked. Pretty cool, I never knew it did before reading this thread.

Yeh mine locks and i don't have a convertible...

Ours in Aus are optioned up PP1, where as in the USA they have a lot of options which is likely why a few of them don't have it like we do

If you have enhanced security, locking the center console is a feature....

Two things I learned ;
- the rear seats fold down really easy
- when you fold them down and you've bought the upgraded stereo with the big sub woofer in the trunk,. you'd think Led Zeppelin was in the back seat
