What other cars did you consider before you decided on your Mustang?

I went from a 2016 GT to an F-150 because I was that guy who always had to borrow his friend's truck and I wanted to be less of a mooch. However I eventually found myself looking at sportscars again and soon I couldn't shake the feeling that I had to own another Mustang. The wife really liked my truck so I gave it to her, we traded in her SUV, and now I'm back in a Mustang GT.

Tough decision between the GT and a supra. Test drove both, but at the end I just wanted that muscle car sound behind me. I love the way the Supra's look, but don't really like the BMW info system. Also didn't want to really deal with potential turbo problems in the future (past history of tuning turbo cars). The 0% for 72 basically sealed the deal.

Two years ago when I bought my 15 V6 I wanted a daily commuter so the other cars I considered were the Camaro V6 and Ecoboost Mustang. I loved my 15 so this year when I traded for a 19 GT the only other car I considered was a Boss 302.

None.

This was back in 2007, early 2008, when the Mustang's main competition was MIA. A friend of mine had a '67 GT back in the day, and it took Ford 40 years to rediscover the formula that worked so well the first time around, and replicate it without refining too much of the original Mustang's appeal out of it.

That's in large part why I still have it.

I went looking for a mustang. But it was a base automatic convertible 19 with 10,000 miles that dealer had a couple of in different colors. I assumed they were rentals and dealer confirmed. Saw a 20 pp1 6 speed and knew it was the one.

Charger -easy to get in and out of ,roomy.
Cheaper than a premium mustang

Corvette-2019 models were scarce when I decided to buy. 2020s were even more scarce thanks to the covid.

Anything I bought would just be to hold me over til the s650 came out.

I really wanted to 2020 Kia Stinger GT2 AWD b4 I got my stang. I had whole lists of parts & things I wanted todo with it & everything, & it just simply didn’t work out...now I love my stang!! But that lack of awd is what is now making me have to buy another suv for the upcoming winter, & so my car isn’t my daily anymore.

SRT Wide body Challenger. Exterior looked great, the interior looked cheap, loose gap panels, the engine OEM rods and pistons can't handle FI over 600rwhp, Dodge Service manager said the rotors and brakes usually have to be changed often at a $1500 dealer cost. Plus they are set up more for straight line and not corners or handling. So walla, I bought a GT Premium with 401a with PP1

I really wanted a RCSB 5.0 F150. After looking for 7 months I settled on the GT.

I only considered an 18+ Challenger scat pack or Shaker. Clearly I made the right decision.

Wife said go buy any Mustang you want as long as it is a 6 speed lol for your retirement gift so
Wanted a GT350 but couldn't make my self pay for it after 5 trips of looking at a few said I can't justify the extra money for MY USE
So bought a loaded GT and added a Roush supercharger for way less and very happy with it
I didn't need the supercharger because the Mustangs run great but it sure is fun

I drove a Long list of cars before I bought my Bullitt. This is my first (and likely only) Mustang and Ford, but it checked all the blocks. Very happy with it. I just came out of 20 years in an E-36 M3, so the bar was high. Still can't believe that "I" a lifelong Mustang mocker now drive one. A real testimony to FOMOCO and how they set up the Bullitt. Perhaps the only other one I would own would be a De-striped GT350.
