Well after 15 years of track time and close to a 1000 laps on my home track, i found out that a concrete barrier is stronger than the front end of my gt350.. Under the heading of don't race what you aren't prepared to repair.. i'm now in repair mode. That being said, i need a new hood and front bumper cover/ splitter. I prefer to go OEM front end and keep the stock look of the car. I'm considering either an OEM hood, a light weight fiber glass hood or gasp...... a carbon fiber hood.

Can anyone recommend a dealership or OEM supplier so i can try to keep some $$ in my pocket?

P.S. I did turn my fastest lap ever on the track 5 minutes before i looped it.... so i have that going for me. which is nice!

thanks chitownstang.. they do have better prices than i've seen..

anyone else with recommendations?
I buy from Benny at Levittown Ford Pars. They are diamond sponsors of the forum. Ask for a quote in a private message and he will give you a bit more because you are on the forum. He usually gives me free freight which is useful on heavy stuff like brake rotors.

I saw with my own eyes. I kinda choked a little.

I showed up to The Mile later in the evening to check out a buddy's Civic build. And when I got into the infield I saw a white GT350 with a carbon hood and thought "That car.......looks very familiar :frown:"

yes tim... milwaukee mile. not sure exactly what happened. car got horribly unstable and was sideways before i knew it. same line, same approach.. same everything as previous. as best as i can tell, i over sprung the car. I need to tune the magna ride suspension a bit or switch to coil overs. i tried to pedal it and stay on asphalt but.......... the fix is underway.

I've always been "prepared" to crash whatever is I've been driving. I push hard, probably to a fault on most everything i do.... I guess its the price for enjoyment and adrenaline. More importantly, not a scratch on me, other than the bruised ego.

Another car probably dropped oil or coolant, most likely.
