I can't keep my wallet in my back pocket. I don't want to lean to one side when sitting. It's just uncomfortable.

Every since I got married my wallet isn't too lopsided at all in the back pocket....

Hate cleaning the cloth seats but I swear they're made by sealy posturepedic. The leather seats in premium weren't bad at all, just not as epically amazing as the base ones.

Auto vs Manual....I didn't mind the A10 as much as other autos but at the end of the day, you floor it, and like 2 hours later the computer gets you into a gear and down the road. Is it faster than the other autos? Of course, but still does the same annoying thing. But with a manual, you have to premeditate and downshift yourself to rocket off so it's not a saving time thing, I think it's an institutionalized thing. Been bread to move a stick shift while smoking and wearing the coolest shades out there. And when you premeditate the A10 you have to hit the paddle like 10,000 times to get a gear 4 or 5 lower while the car reacts to each press of that paddle. To each there own. To those who made it this far, hope you enjoyed the typing of a fried afternoon brain. Hope some sense was made in this posting lol.

I am glad that Ford realizes that buying a Mustang is a very passionate experience, unlike buying a Subaru and that everyone’s intended use is varied hence the levels of options available. For me, I couldn’t care less about having a manual or a PP Mustang. In fact, if I could not buy a convertible I would not buy a Mustang. Don’t get me wrong, I love the look of the S550 platform but I wanted a modern convertible performance car that didn’t cost an arm and a leg and the Mustang fit the bill. We DD ours at the moment, but we are retired so we don’t put a lot of miles on one. Our 2015 CPO Premium vert with 31k fit us fine. Not the fastest but not slow by any means and really, we are not racing it so we don’t care. It’s a blast to drive and we always get comments and thumbs up where ever we go in it. It garners more attention than any car we have owned and that’s saying a lot. Oh yea, get the Premium. :)

When I started shopping for an '18 GT I really considered an a10. Despite knowing the a10 is faster I got a manual. I don't regret it a bit, even sitting in traffic. I'm old and learned to drive on a 3 speed column shift pickup. It's great we have a choice.

Both of my S550s have been PP cars. I agree that for those doing a lot of suspension work it makes sense to skip PP. For me it makes for a really good street car that just needs some anti-wheelhop tweaks.

Only downside of the premium is that the leather kinda sucks, it wears and rips easily.

Another way to think about it, is that yes you may pay more for it now but you will also get more for it when/if you sell.

Personally I would get the base and use the rest of the money for mods or track days. $4k will get you a lot of track days.
I agree with the leather quality. It is very soft and comfortable but also very thin. Time will tell.

Go for the premium!

I have a 2018 base GT I purchased brand new. So far I've added leather seats, MyColor gauges, and PP gauges. I totally can't stand the 4 inch display and really want Sync 3. While I did save money on the overall purchase price, it's kind of a pain adding all the features the premium car would have had.....

I also learned how to drive with a three on the tree pickup. If they put the Tremec in the GT it would have been a tougher decision for me.

Ah the old three on the tree. I can remember driving the base model Dodge pick up that my company had when I was 18. That had a three on the tree.
I would suggest to anyone that drives a manual to try one if you ever get the chance. Total different experience. They are few and far now.
Also agree the Tremec 6 speed would have been awesome!

I'm in the same situation. How hard was the MyColor cluster swap?

Not hard at all. Basically plug and play. You'll have to get the mileage programmed though. Some guy's have had to use forscan to deactivate some premium features. In my particular situation, forscan was not needed. Had the miles programmed and plugged it right in. Very happy having MyColor gauges, so much better than the plain white,

I had a 15’ GT premium. The leather seats at the bottom were a little stretched and the seat cooling feature didn’t work very good.

This time I got the 301A for my 18’ GT I like the cloth seats just fine. I don’t miss the leather seats. The only thing I wanted from the 400A? Was the digital dash but I was able to get one from a member on this forum.
