A quick tint question. When tinting the windowa, i know that you're supposed to not roll down the windows for a few days. But, when you open the doors, the windows drop down about an 1/8th of an inch. Does this cause an issue with the tint? I hope to be getting my tinted in the next couple of weeks, and was just curious.

Good question. I was wondering the same thing.

My windows are tinted and there is no issue with the slight window drop on the door opening. You should be fine.

I asked my tint guy about this when I was getting mine done a few weeks ago.

It's not an issue.

It's not a problem. I asked my tint guy the same thing when he was installing it and he said not to worry about that little drop. He says many cars now do that as well, so they are used to working with that. No issues show up after install neither from outside nor inside. I tried to take some pics, but they came out so-so (my window is dirty  and it rained). Anyhow, point is, it's not a problem lol

edit: btw, when they install the tint, they will put a thing to make the door think it's closed and the window will fully roll up, even with the door open. They will remove it when done though. Anyhow, the slight up and down didn't cause issues post-installation, so you'll be good to go.

Thanks for all of the replies. I kind of figured that it would be okay, but with that little up/down motion, just wanted to see if anyone had an issue.

You're good!.. What brand and shade you going with?
I'll probably go whatever the legal limit is, 35%. I may go one shade darker, just kind of depends. Not sure what brand. There is a new shop opening up a couple of miles from the house. The have a shop about 6 miles down the road. i don't know if they're moving, or opennig a new branch. As soon as they open, I'm going to swing by and check them out. My neighbor has used them quite a bit and has been very pleased.

The tint extends below the weather seal. That's the issue: the weather seal snagging the tint. The tiny up/down of the window won't affect it. Do the windows of the coupe' do the same thing?

Probably a move. What store would open a branch just four miles away?

Great tint shops know this already and it's not an issue. I have very high end thick ceramic tint and no issues.

My tint shop used a heat gun on the lower part of the window to help dry that area so it was not an issue

I went with darkest legal tint on the sides & rear, & the lightest tint on the full windshield

Don't know. I haven't taken in yet. We've had the grandkids for most of the week amd old people this weekend, so free time for car stuff is somewhat limited
