My car is doing the same exact thing. Took it to the dealer and confirmed its the throttle body. Said its not covered under power-train and is approx $500 to replace. :curse: Better off buying an aftermarket one and doing my self.
Run as fast as you can. The stock OEM TB is no where near $500. I found them for $90 on Tasca Parts. If Cobra Jet can supply the ssm don't they have to cover it?

* $115 not $90. Price went up from a year and a half ago.

Only a fsa would extend the warranty not a ssm or a tsb

Here ya go - this is the initial thread I had posted and member fmc_smt provided additional info in it too:

IF the vehicle is still under warranty (3/36 OR an ESP), you should be able to get that TB replaced by Ford, as it IS a known issue. Go to another Dealer if that Dealership is trying to rob you of $500.

If I were you, I’d call the Ford 800# and get a CSR to do a claim and reference the article noted here that it is again a known issue and YOU shouldn’t have to be paying anything.

Thanks for the info. The issue completely makes sense, but I notice the bulletin only mentions 2019 mustang 5.0s- mines a 2016. Other issue is I am out of 3/36 warranty. I still have power-train, but of course Ford doesn't define the throttle body as a power-train part. I am already going through Ford 800# for a separate reoccurring AC issue with the car as well.

I just had this issue start today. It only does it a few times then stops. The car seems to drive fine and sounds fine when I give it gas. I'm still under warranty, so I'll probably bring it in and have it replaced eventually, but is it something I should get replaced right away? Could it cause more issues if I continue to drive it?
