Well doc.....it all started when I was 8 years old.....Why to people feel the need to justify their decisions on a F’in internet car forum...?
Lol.
Thought this was going to be another part throttle racing thread.Walked away from a GT
That's EXACTLY what my first service tech told me. Essentially, they're telling you that they don't give a flying f**k whether or not you get stranded in the middle of nowhere with a blown engine, or even better, if it happens while you're going 65+mph on the freeway.... That's when I decided to find another dealership to look into the issue. When they did, they found pieces of metal on top of the cylinder heads....... They did whatever Ford HQ approved in order to fix it, and the issue came back. Seeing as my car has been in the shop for 3+ months since purchasing it for this same issue, I started a Ford buy back. Not once during those three months was I offered a rental or loaner car too.Salesman was cool about it, but the sales manager was kind of a DB... at one point he told me to just "blow it up, it's under warranty..." - really dude, I'm not that guy that is interested in having my vehicle spend half it's life in a shop. But thanks for the super sleaze-ball tactic.

Exactly all of this! Ford, get your sh*t together, please! That's EXACTLY what my first service tech told me. I really love"d" my car, but this whole ordeal/headache has left me with a sour taste in my mouth. I've also been waiting forever for this issue to be fixed so I could supercharge my car. But now I realize that it never will be fixed, and I don't want to add a supercharger to an engine that will most likely blow up. Hence why I started the Ford buy back and placed an order for a Zl1 1LE. I've been a Mustang guy my entire life, but I'm not ready to deal with yet another shit-storm of issues by buying another 5.0. Was originally waiting for a GT500 but the auto-only, and what are sure to be hilariously atrocious ADMs (that Ford does nothing to address) has turned me off of that idea for the time being.
You may get lucky and have 0 issues with a GT, but that's unfortunately not how my "luck" works; and I am NOT ready to deal with Ford again for that same issue. The "tick" should have been addressed with the Gen 1 'yote, and should have never existed in the Gen 2 and 3. Can't think of any other car today where the manufacturer thinks that it's ok for a brand new car to have such a problem that will undoubtedly result in the customer having to constantly leave it at the shop for repairs.
That sucks, but at least you don’t tickTons! Omg so much tonnage.
