I never said anyone was shutting down the free speech of anyone else. You picked the sides, I just pointed out it was Texas, not a state like California, that argued the case that license plates are government speech.

The leftists are as embedded in the Texas administrative state as they are in hell (new york).

I'll probably end up getting WOAH on my plate only because I have been saying it at work every day for like 13 years now, and it is more of a joke than anything. Unless I come up with something better. I don't want both my cars to have a variation of COOL HWP.

I use the same basic custom plate for all of my vehicles (mostly because they are all FI) . My diesel F250 is "B00ST ME", my Subaru is "BOOST ME" and my new Roush is going to be something like "B0OST ME".

Most states allow 7 characters on a standard plate. That's what they allow here in Ohio, 6 if you get a specialty plate like a veteran to allow room to depict whatever else you have like the branch of service.
