For my 2018 GT convertible in 18’’ i was looking for a tire that is not expensive but good also during rainy days.
I was thinking about firestone indy 500.

Do you have other ideas ?

Durability is not really a problem . 8000 miles it s ok

Thank you

Yep. Indy 500s are good.

I'll second the Indy 500. Cheap and they look pretty good. Drove mine in the rain in California with no issues. They didn't inspire as much confidence as my last all seasons but they were all seasons.

I had a set of 20 inch nitto 555G2 that I was real happy with.

Another vote for the Indy 500s.

Grip very good, work muuuuuuuuuuch better when the temps are low, are fantastic in the rain, and ride very nicely and quietly. They're an Ultra High Performance Summer tire, not a Max Performance Summer tire, so they're better when the weather isn't 80 degrees and sunny.

My only complaint is steering feel.

Or check out the Pilot Sport 4s. I hear great things about them too.

BF Sport Comp 2's is another option. Personally, I feel once you get into Ultra High Performance Summer tires, they're kind of a horse a piece as long as you're getting something that has reasonable hydroplaning resistance. I mean this in a good way.

I have heard good things about the Firehawks but I can't speak by experience.

Dealer put Hankook Ventus V12's on my car when I bought it. And for the price they seem good, around the same price as the firehawks. I don't have any tire to compare with on the mustang though. It's been raining nonstop for the most part and the water traction seems fine, if you push it of course you'll spin. Actually took em through the pass last weekend, and of course when i put torque down to test it they spun in the snow, but I made it being careful(i was puckered). When it was just wet, and 32 degrees, no probs. Of course not being stupid still. Not recommended in the slightest to drive in the snow, but they got me through it. At what cost to the tires from getting so cold, we'll find out. They seem fine as of now.

Has anyone tried the General G-Max RS. I'm looking to replace my tires on my Hellcat and the G-Max are cheaper than the Firehawk. It's a lease and I don't want to spend too much on replacements to turn in in a year.

I run them. They are great all the way down into the 20 degree range. Wet traction and ride are good. No noticeable noise over my exhaust. Don't drive in snow so, no idea there. General is owned by Continental and run by the Germans. I have had great luck with their tires for years.

Thanks 99Zeus99 for the response. I don't drive my Hellcat when temp. is under 32 degree. That's why I bought my 19 GT. I drive the GT in bad weather.

I had the firehawk indy 500s on my last car and dry and wet grip was great. My mpgs took a hit from them though...

I just had some Continental Extreme Contact Sports installed. First impressions after a road trip on the interstate: a little stiffer with a tad more noise vs the stock Pirellis (tire pressure was at 35 PSI). Averaged 28 MPG while cruising at 75. Did not push them since 1st time out after our long winter. Plenty of time to do that when it warms up. But so far impressed with them. Looking through an old magazine at the doctors office, had a rebate last May so maybe another one next month.
