Hey guys, just doing a quick and simple write up regarding the radar hardwire into the 2018 Mirror with rain sensor.

This is super simple.

1) remove plastic covers, you can do so by hand. It’s held on by clips.

2) remove mirror, it requires a T-20 screw.

3). Locate the wires where the mirror plugs into it. On the left side of the connection is where the power is.

4) Locate the blue/black wire and plug your Black wire into it, locate the brown/yellow and plug your Red wire into it.

That’s all you need to do and it will power on and off with all the other accessories.

Thank you for sharing. I was looking into options for doing this, did not want to mess with the headliner to run a wire.

Is it constant or switched power?
Its with power. When you turn the car on then the radar will turn on automatically. When you turn the car off then it will turn off with it.

Do you (or anyone) happen to know the wire colors for the auto-dimming (Bullitt) mirror? Non rain-sensing.

Yes here is a diagram of where to connect the wires to.

Just finished my install of a new Uniden R7 and can't thank you enough for this post OP. Used a MirrorTap MTX-1010 and the install took about 10 minutes thanks to your instructions. Could not have been easier.

I used the supplied sticky suction cup mount since the R7 Blendmount isn't available yet. Honestly the current set up has the R7 tucked up high, right by the headliner and out of the way to the point where I may skip the blend mount all together. I really like this location.
