Lol, exactly what my wife thinks as well....we are both mid to late forties.

I will admit I thought hard about a new 2019 RAM...those are awesome.

If I could justify both I would...but I missed the v8 pony car experience....plus she has the CX-5 if we need more comfort.
Love the new RAMs. They look awesome. You can see it though every time you see a Corvette. It's always an older man. Probably mostly because men can't afford a Corvette until they're at least in the mid 40s-50s lol.

This is part of the reason why I love the Mustang and won't a buy a BMW or similar. The Mustang is more so an "every man's car". It's affordable looks and power. If you're driving a BMW or a Corvette, you're instantly seen as wealthier than most. It's a status thing for many and I get that. But I just don't care what people think of my Mustang.

I drive it because I like it not because I have anyone to impress. And the Mustang hate is real. I have people get mad at me for no reason and cut me off, people that try to race me, or ride my bumper to try to show off. I'm like dude... you do realize if I was trying I'd blow you away... It just makes me laugh lol but I digress.

Actually, I get a lot of attention from women. It's been about 50/50 men/women who have come up to me about the car. The difference is:

Men: Want to know specs & the mods I've done.
Women: Think it's really pretty & want to know how fast I've driven. (I think the speed thing may be a trick question/test. Not sure what the "correct" answer is, but they never seem satisfied with any answer below 100 MPH.)

When I think of middle aged men mid-life crisis, I think Corvette. Every time.
DING! DING! FRICKIN DING! I have never viewed the standard model pony cars (Camaro and Mustang) as a vehicle for curing the male mid life crisis. However the Corvette has a reputation for being just what is being described. Guys beginning to lose their mojo are drawn to them and women associate them with guys who have money to blow. I give younger guys a hard time about owning one because they don't need them. They don't lack self confidence and they don't need the little blue pill. So in tribute to that I made this little photo.

Like in a little wagon? Is it some kind of Uber-like service? On foot? Age restricted?

Oh heck yeah, that'll make pulling the wagon much easier.
LMAO yep...in my red Radio Flyer wagon. They dig it.

I'm 40 and at mid life but if I ever have a Midlife "Crisis" and I buy a car to scratch an unrealistic itch, you better believe it's going to be something a hell of a lot nicer than an American $20K V8 car, lol. This is a lifestyle or heirloom car not a crisis car.

First off, who are you calling "Middle Age". I'm a "Senior Citizen". I'm old enough to have figured out that I don't need to impress anyone.

I choose to drive what's fun and have some fun when I drive it.

As far as what anyone else thinks, well the old adage comes to mind "Not my Circus, Not my Monkeys"

Met my wife at a car show when I drove a lifted truck. Later on met my girlfriend at a Starbucks when I drove a Mustang. The wife likes both.
Wait, your wife likes both your Mustang and your girlfriend?! :like:

OP, I am 32 and so is my wife. We both get to share the 2018 GT and love the heck out of it. This car was the wife's choice and her dream for many years and I am glad she bought it because now we both enjoy it like none other car I have had before. Who cares what anyone thinks!

The wife has mentioned it many times that other Mustang/Camaro/Audi/ (Insert any car here) try to race her or give her thumbs up etc. Some people cut her off rather erratically just because they see a bright orange V8 car and get jealous. At the end of the day, both of us get to be in a car that makes us smile. Forget what anyone feels about your choice or their perception of what a middle-aged person should drive :) haters hate and before this year ends, make sure the list of haters in your life becomes longer because that usually means you are doing something right in your life!

That's what I was wondering?!?

I have trucks, stangs, and bikes, guess I'm covered.

Seriously though, who cares? I've had a mustang since I was 17 and I could GAF what some bimbo thinks. Sometimes, I think my wife loves the '18 more than I do. That's the kind of woman you should be looking for.
