The original title of this thread stated I was looking for the OEM part # for the GT350R spoiler.

I damaged mine in a minor low speed collision with an unseen mailbox (DON'T JUDGE ME!) - and it's pretty much done - so... I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to spend the insurance repair $ on the OEM spoiler @ +$11k after tax... or grab multiple SpeedKore pieces.

I was quoted around $2k (painted and or just clear) for the SpeedKore CF rear spoiler. Haven't heard back from them yet on the other pieces..

To me it makes sense to just upgrade multiple pieces and not worry about the OEM -- given I don't plan to sell it (maybe my kids will if it's still around once I'm gone.. but at that point -- not worried about it). However - without the OEM rear spoiler it will be worth less.

Question is -- has anyone used the SpeedKore stuff? I came across a thread where someone used an aftermarket CF spoiler (not SpeedKore) and it failed on them at speed...

What would you do?

Sure, I've updated my post above and will add it to the sticky parts thread.

Any particular reason you're not including Carbon Composites by Mad? The guy has the molds Ford used - so it's a perfect replica. I have one and it's a piece of art.

Not saying Speedkore is bad--no experience with them. But they are a bit unproved with this wing compared to Carbon Composites (originally C2C)--many 350 guys run their wing.

Thanks for the heads up! I forgot about these guys and confused them with Anderson Composites, I guess. Their whole 11pc kit is less than th OEM spoiler! Not that I’d do that whole kit, though. That splitter and the skirts are begging to be chewed up by rocks.. rear diffuser too.

But their spoiler is same price and looks great on your ride. Good to know it’s proven. I’m assuming you’ve had your car at speed with it?

Yep. It's very stable and I trust it completely. Much stiffer than the HCM wing I had before.

I know @50 Deep has the full carbon kit. He's had good luck with it. If you're a fan of carbon fiber, it's worth a look for sure. He can share more info about his experience with the full kit.

I have the full kit and have tracked it. No issues. You can PPF areas you are worried about.

If you decide to go that route let me know.

Thanks for the feedback. Awaiting inspection from insurance company. They want to meet at Ford dealer to ensure it can’t be repaired... I’m no CF expert but I highly doubt it. If not then I’ll likely grab the full set.

Did you do the install yourself?

Ouch! That's brutal.

If it's a total loss, PLEASE dissect it a bit to see what it's made of, etc. I like where @Epiphany's head is going :)

Not sure what that is. Headed to the dealer in a few so they can determine if it’s repairable.

Adjuster told me about 500 ppl at the ins company have had eyes on this claim so far.. craziness.

If they do replace it and I can keep the old one I’ll definitely pull it apart a bit more.

Who's your insurer? All GT350R they cover will see a premium increase once they realize there is a $13k wing and $16k set of wheels on these cars ...

I’m sure they will, can’t really blame them. Sent PM

Hopefully it won't be like the GT500KR owner who hit something on the road (a dog, IIRC) and destroyed the front end of his car, incl. the CF hood. I remember reading an article about the incident and being horrified that his insurer was refusing to pay for the replacement parts due to the unexpected (to them) outrageous replacement costs.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised at all but that's total BS. If they fail in their actuarial analyses due to their own ignorance and failure to research the product they're insuring, they should eat the loss.

It's not like any of the trick components on the R, or their costs, are a secret! It's been plastered all over every major automotive media outlet for 4 years now.
