Shelby American just debuted the 2019 Shelby GT at Woodward Dream Cruise Mustang Alley today!

The iconic Shelby GT has returned with more power, performance and Shelby styling! The newly designed Shelby GT combines terrific handling, strong V8 power, muscular exhaust note, and handsome good looks. The naturally aspirated version produces 480 horsepower. The additional horsepower comes from a new exhaust, while a Ford Performance supercharger is available that can boost horsepower over 700+*.

Shelby also worked with Ford Performance to tailor the suspension and maximize the car's capabilities, all without sacrificing ride quality. The exterior features proprietary bodywork and stylish new wheels, while Shelby touches can be found inside the sporty interior.

Available through select North American Ford showrooms, the 2019 Shelby GT offers thrilling performance and dynamic handling in a car that owners will love to drive all day, every day. I never really cared for the over the top 2018 Super Snake front-end, but this toned down version on the GT-H looks ace!

Somebody finally fixed the 2018 facelift. Ford please pay attention and make the 2020 like this.

Honestly curious, why would anyone get one of these instead of a GT350 at essentially the same price?

"The naturally aspirated version produces 480 horsepower. The additional horsepower comes from a new exhaust... • Shelby by Borla cat-back exhaust"

So this is the second "specialty" vehicle released claiming a twenty HP boost from mods that are known to not really affect horsepower, that combined with the in the wild dyno reports, and trap speeds from stock GT's kind of confirms conservative ratings on the stockers.

Tom, I've waited on the 500 as I would want a convertible. But, at the starting price (that I expected to be high, but not that high) it will be a hard decision. That decision being do I get rid of of my Corvette Vert for a 500 Vert, because of that starting price. Dad-burn first world problems....

Lets address the elephant in the room. What kind of relationship involves two Shelby GTs.

So they also took PP2 rims and painted them gold?

The car from a performance aspect is good but the body work looks pieced together, like rushed and doesn’t flow all too well.

That hood makes the entire front clip look like it is sagging towards the ground. The front fenders seem to be really rounded downward, like sloping down at the headlights and slopes more forward - is that an illusion due to the hood or are the front fenders new on the Shelby?

Is the hood really higher at the axle than at the cowl? That looks strange.

:puke:

I'm sorry, but I'm not digging that body kit at all.

Much prefer the stock '18 hood.

The terrible bubble hood, the plastic junk tacked on the fascia, the minimal performance upgrades at that premium price -- looks like every other Shelby I will never see in person, on the road or at shows... thankfully.

Just like every other Shelby America product, you pay a premium for a car that says "Shelby" in 30 different places.
