Burning Smell With (Pulls)

New to the forums, have a pretty straight forward question and concern.

Car has almost 60k Miles. Maintained very well. Every once in a while when I hit a good pull, I get a brief burning smell. Lasts about 10 seconds. Doesn't smell like the clutch, no oil on the Cat.. Any one else experience this?

Most likely your cats. Ford has a "cat over temp" logic in the tuning that adds a little more fuel during high loads. This helps the cats from overheating. Also. if you don't run an oil separator, your intake manifold may be ingesting some pooled up oil/vapor from the valve covers. Highly recommend running one if you don't have one already.

No kiddin? Didn't know this. Thanks for the info man. My biggest concern was Emissions getting in the cabin, or engine failure closing in soon.

It's the Catalytic converters. I'll notice the smell after hard pulls on occasion.
