Im guessing that he is selling because of the excess burning of oil! He had it at dealer two days ago asking about it.

Read through whole thread and the dumping of the catch can back into the engine had my mind blown all the way through it...

Before you sell it run a can of engine restore through it for a few hundred miles. I've seen that stuff do miraculous things.

My 5.0 burns a fair bit of oil. So far maybe 3-4 quarts in 9k miles.

Air/fuels are fine. Catch can doesn't collect all that much. No oil on the driveway or drips under the car. No other symptoms of a problem.

FWIW, I do drive it pretty hard and the car sees track and autox time. If its a problem other than having to spend a few $$ on an extra quart of oil every now and then, I'll take it to the dealer, because my drivetrain is completely stock. So far it doesn't seem to be anything to much to worry about.

So my advice is don't worry too much about it. Seems normal (or at least not uncommon) for some cars.
Hey nightmare, what did the dealer say? I just changed mine for the 1st time at 3k and got 6.5 quarts out. I don't drive overly hard either.
