Track daily and insure it.

Although I only buy enough coverage to payoff my remaining loan balance on the car regardless of how much it's actually worth.

Who are you going with ? Lockton has a deductable of 10% , minimum deductible of $2500 . Doesn't really make sense to declare a value lower then $25K

I've used Lockton before, but going with Hagerty as they seem to have better pricing.

Yes I think they have the same thing, there's a minimum cost regardless of the coverage. I was just going through their quick quote system just now and it was $155 whether I was getting a $1,000 policy or $25,000 policy.

My plan worked before when I was insuring it for mid 30s and high 20s. Every event I insured it for less and was able to save a few bux, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. Although now my car has quite a few more mods than before, so those add value and it's nice to have them covered also since I'll be going with a standard 25k policy.

52,000 miles on the car, roughly 2k of that is track miles over 16 track days in 2 years. Never insured it.
The way I figure it, tracks are much safer than the street any day of the week.

1st track day of 2018 is only 2 weeks away. Can't wait!

It is my daily driver, for about 9 months of the year. I do a 2-5 HPDE's a year.

No insurance, as for now.

I don't push it anywhere near the cars limits.

I agree that the track is safer than the street. However I still buy insurance, not because of myself but more to cover if someone else hits you. Which is highly unlikely, but it does happen. I just wanna be safe.

Or the guy in front of you blows an engine and you drive through an oil slick and off the track. I have seen that happen .

I'm attending my first track day down at Dominion Raceway. SCCA Track Night in America Novice. I purchased the insurance in the case of a catastrophic total loss, but judging by the deductible that's about all its good for. Still, it beats nothing.

I have done one HPDE 2 years ago and got insurance ($250, I think) since the car was 4 months old. Now, I am not sure. I have 20k left on the car. I am also doing a track night at Dominion Raceway this weekend. It's a no helmet, no passing night. So I am not getting an insurance. I want to do this event to get a feel for the track, since it's my first time.
My first HPDE was at NCCAR.

I was at Dominion last thursday for SCCA TNiA. It's a good track but that wall is scary! The back strait does not have a runoff unlike the front. There is also a few bumps coming through the tunnel before the front strait. SCCA requires a helmet so I had to purchase one.
