We're that it's awesome! Congratulations to both you and Ford for doing the right thing. Keeping the window open for a month is terrible so discipline and attitude. I don't remember if you head a stick, but the 2018 is a much better shifting car and the additional horsepower is equal to a couple of thousand in mods. If spring for the magneride. Tell your wife she will enjoy the ride much better. Good job being respectful and firm in speaking with Ford. That's just great.:clap2:
Well, I wish i could spring for the magnaride, but I dont think that will be in the cards for me unfortunately. I did have a 6 speed before, and I plan to stick with a 6 speed. I know the 10 speed auto is insane, but I think the fun factor with a manual matters more to me.

Its definitely been a test of patience, especially when paying for a car that you don't have and cant drive. I know that Im not out of the woods completely yet, but hopefully another couple weeks and Ill be sailing off into the sunset with the new car.

As much as I love the A10, there is no replacement for a 6 speed. Something about rowing your gears and having that connection with the car and making the decision to push it into whatever gear you want at will. I live around D.C. and my car is a daily so the A10 is good for what I do. If and when I purchase my second Mustang, you bet it will be a manual.

Yea my car is specifically for fun duty, so it only gets driven on nice days, no rain, etc. I daily drove it for a month after I bought it, up until I got a cheap daily driver to get me to and from work. Car never sees a daily commute, and I wouldn't want to drive it to work anyway. I am a purchaser for an RV company and the parking lot is full of lag bolts and screws, and a bunch of peoples cars who would gladly put door dents if they got the chance. 6 speed works for me in my situation, but if I had to drive it every day, I'd probably opt for the auto as well.

Still waiting on the ford RAV department to call, Im really hoping to hear by friday. If i havent heard anything by the time I get out of work, I am planning to call the CSR I have been dealing with and get the contact information for the RAV department and see if I can get a hold of someone.

Im missing having my car something fierce. I actually have a friend's car that I detailed for him parked in my garage, and was told to enjoy it while ive got it. Needless to say, the longer that ford takes, the more Im driving a 500 wheel horse camaro around. Yes I know, I have the enemy parked in my garage. Its nothing like the mustang, I wont lie. Doesnt drive as nice, doesnt look as nice, but, 500hp to the wheels definitely makes me smile a bit considering that I havent had my car for well over a month now.

What mods on the Camaro?
Stainless works headers/exhaust, stage 3 BTR cam(he also did springs and retainers, not sure what brand but they are like 380lb valve springs), tune, intake, and an mgw shifter. Put down about 495 to the rear wheels. We have a place local that only does GM tuning/modifications. Guy that owns the place is a former engineer, so he knows his stuff lol. My friend did all the work himself, but he had the local shop (Indiana musclecar) do the dyno tuning.

Went to the dealership today and picked out the new car.

2018 Orange Fury performance pack 6 speed. He found it an hour and a half or so away from the dealer, and he said once he sends the invoice from that vehicle to ford, and I accept the agreement online, he will have the car trailered to the dealership. Its sounding like its going to be a pretty quick process from here.

Got all of my aftermarket parts back and got to see my car for what I assume will be the last time.

Here's how the car sits as of today:

and the pile of parts. Kind of sickening to see how everything is just thrown about.

So this whole replacement process is turning out to be more of a pain than I thought it seemed like it was going to be.

Ford did in fact fedex me an agreement to sign, which I did and uploaded online(they give you an account to be able to track the status of your replacement process and upload documents.)

My RAV caseworker was not in on friday, and I had to call three separate times to finally get someone who was actually helpful and could help guide me through the process.

I most likely will have to take out a new loan for the new vehicle, which Isnt a huge deal, but didnt think i would have to go through this process.

I had to upload the signed agreement that they sent to me, my finance contract, gap insurance, bill of sale, and title application from when I bought my 2017. Naturally, when I went to the dealer on thursday to get all of my parts back, I forgot to get the contents out of the glove box, which contained all of my sales paperwork.

From my understanding now, ford will take all the paperwork, and the invoice from the new vehicle I chose to replace my 17, and generate a worksheet that details the information of the replacement. That should contain the official pricing, terms, etc. Once I accept that, its my understanding that they will send whatever they need to, to the dealer, and then the dealer will help me secure a new loan for the new vehicle.

From the math I am doing (i plan on putting a small amount down, maybe $1500 or so) I will only have approx. $300 to roll into the new loan/vehicle. All things considered, once the financial portion of this is settled it should be smooth sailing from there. Just a lot of back and forth, and I am finding that the dealer, and a number of people from Ford dont understand how this process works.

Man this whole situation sounds exactly like mine, even the way your car died out in the freeway exactly like mine did. I really don’t want to get a replacement vehicle, I’d like to stick with my 17 I love it. I’m gonna really push for a new motor all together. Luckily I work at the Ford dealership my car is being serviced at so I can literally just walk back there and see what’s going on. Sounds like I still need to contact Ford and open up a case regardless. I really don’t think I’ll take anything less than a new motor. Don’t want it to be “halfway” rebuilt.

Why would they make you take out a new loan? They should just replace the vehicle on your current loan and you just continue making payments same as always, with no additional cost to you. Probably worth asking them about this.

The collateral on his loan is the car with the blown engine. Regardless of the cost to the OP, that loan has to be paid off.

It’s up to the lender. The difference between the msrp of the old vehicle and the new vehicle is about $6,000. Ford credit will not let me roll that into my current loan from what I am being told.

Kind of. If I would have swapped to another vehicle with the same msrp as my 2017, then they would have done a collateral swap, kept the loan the exact same, and just changed the vin numbers on the loan. Since I am upgrading, it works a little differently. I am responsible for anything on my loan that’s over the $34,250 msrp that my 2017 was. I’ll have a small amount over that, which is why I plan to put some cash down.
