Springs and BMR lockout kit first, IMO. Transforms these cars.

CAI with a tune later, unless you just want extra eye candy under the hood.

I’ve been asking around about installing springs. Shops don’t want to do it. Where can you rent a spring compressor if I decide to take this on myself?

I think you can get one from Advanced Auto. Just be careful with them. Point them in a.....safe direction, if there is such a thing when using spring compressors. Why wouldn't shops want to do it? Or go to a performance or specialty shop. Springs wear out and have to be replaced on cars all the time so that is a little puzzling.

My normal shop said no for liability reasons down the road. Don’t want to be held responsible for wear and tear due to non factory Springs. Another shop said only if I buy Springs from them... I have a few people checking with friends as well. I did not think of advance, they might have them for use

As others have said, I would probably wait and get springs and dampers together, unless you're going more for looks than performance. A more performance oriented spring paired with something like a Koni, Bilstein, or Steeda damper really changes the car for the better. I'd also look into some exhaust stuff if you haven't done that yet.

BMR lockout is a good idea too.

If you had to choose, I second some IRS parts before either springs or CAI. I'm running the Steeda diff bushing inserts, SF bushing supports, SF braces, alignment kit, rear toe links, and vertical links and it made a night and day difference driving the car. I've heard nothing but positive reviews on the BMR IRS products too.

Also remember, with just springs depending on how much you lower it you might also need adjustable toe links, maybe camber plates or at least new bolts if you want your alignment to be right. GL!

Where in SC are you at?

EDIT: If doing springs, go ahead and get the Steeda cradle alignment kit. You have to do an alignment afterwards anyway. Do it once.
