Lowering Springs Then What?

So i was I'm going to get some Steeda lowering springs and wheels, but what mod would make sense after that in terms of handling/suspension? In an ideal world where i had no kids and a mortgage, I'd do all at once, but here i am. I'm not tracking but do occasional spirited driving to and from work. I also deal with hilly twisty bits but my days of testing my mettle are behind me. I just want the car to feel planted. Thoughts?

If you are going to do springs, than shocks and struts have to get into the conversation. Unless your car has active suspension. In that case you want to have them reprogrammed.

Are you going to track it? If so you should state your particular needs and someone with track knowledge could give you better advice. For street use, I like my Steeda Pro-Action set.

2020 GT 10r80. I did the Steeda minimum progressive lowering springs 2 years ago went with Koni shocks for the rear and left front stock. No alignment was needed and no issues rides great. 285/40/19 rear and 255/40 Conti’s front. You don’t need stop the hop kit unless you’re tracking or drag racing.

Thanks. I’m considering this kit from Steeda but not sure if I need the shock/struts right now or just wait until the stock ones need replacing. To be honest I’m just trying to get the wheel gap and stance right but understand by making one change can alter other things.

Id stick with 1" max on the lowering. Ford Performance track kit is just about perfect imo but its a pain in the ass to get in stock. But you definitely want to do the dampers at the same time. Add the PP braces if you dont have them. And address the subframe deficiencies because these cars are marshmallows stock-the subframe is arguably where the biggest improvements can be had.

I have the steeda linear springs with the FP track struts. Looks great but is definitely not something I would want to daily drive.

If it's your daily driver and just looking for stance I'd go with some progressives and just keep the stock struts. I dailyed the car on BMR SP0080 springs and stock struts and it felt not much different than stock, but had the look.

I feel like doing the BMR CB005 is a great addition for short money in addition to the springs.

Also, handling wise your gonna feel a huge difference if you throw on some wide tires. Throw some 285s/295s in front and 305s in the rear and you will notice a substantial difference.

I love the stance of those springs in the front, But why is the back so high? It looks like the track springs are higher in the back than stock springs. Did you have the bushings clocked?

Looks awesome! What wheel setup do you have going? Notice any excessive tire wear? That’s what I’ve been told by a local shop to expect with that kit especially for daily driving.

Bushings were clocked. The Trackkit only lowered my rear by .625", the front .875". I loved the stance. I have since sold this car and now have a G87 M2

Those were the LMR X500 19x10 and 19x11 with 285/305 Mich PSS. There wasn't any excessive tire wear. The car drove so much better than stock which was rubbish even with the Performance Pack

they do ride a bit higher in the rear. im guessing for a bit of extra suspension travel to keep the ride decent, but just a guess.
