What is the most popular aftermarket wheel setup for the standard GT350? Staying with OE GT350 wheel size, going to R Spec, or other ie 18's etc. I assume some will depend on the car use HPDE, autocross, street (looks) etc..

Thanks all! Looking to pick my 17 up this Friday and I'm looking at a set of foreglines.

I would think most folks who switched to lighter wheels went with R spec (I did). But buying 4 identical wheels (same offset) and using spacers in front would allow you to run “square” on the tires and rotate them.

19x11 25+ front, 19x11 56+ rear
19x11 25+ front, 19x11 61+ rear

Both super popular.
What does the different offsets on the rear accomplish?
I believe that's a typo.

should read 19x11.5 et56

There's also 19x11et50 on all four corners. This would use a 25mm spacer up front.

Read Cow's correction too.

The 61+ rear is OEM spec with an 11 inch wheel. Well really OEM is 62+ but 61+ will give some wheels that have a tight concave better wheel spoke to rear brake caliper clearance. 62+ is fine though as long as it's not too deep concave. Forgestar will run a 62+. It's about 1.5mm from the rear caliper which is acceptable though. Plenty of OEM's run that type of brake clearance to the wheel. I run a 61+. Wheel makers have had problems with some wheels clearing the big brakes in the rear and 18" wheels are absolutely out of the question without a brake kit swap.

I wanted an OEM like measurement when I got my wheels.

Thanks for all the replies. I’m looking at the forgeline GS1R. I’m leaning towards the R spec but tires seem to be a bit more expensive than the OE spec. I know I know....don’t skimp on consumables when buying a 60k performance car...

Go R spec 19x11 on all four. I know many who went with the 19x11.5 in the rear that were unhappy with the poke outside the quarter. 11" wheel and 315 tire are no issue.

There's a lot of tire options in the 305/30/19 size.

If you go with 19x11et50 all around, you can run the previously mentioned tire size and rotate front to back or vice versa.

In high school I worked at a tire shop (late 90s early 00s). Back then spacers were a huge non non? Does that still rain true today? We wouldn’t touch a car if it had spacers.

A 25mm spacer will need to be a studded spacer. Some will argue having two sets of studs in a motorsports environment is a questionable move but whatever. If you're a pro that's one thing. A few HPDE's is no biggie. I have a buddy who ran a 25mm on his E92 and would make Road America is little bitch. Just install them correctly.

It has been honestly a split

A vast majority go with the R spec fitment

19x11 ET 24 & 19x11.5 ET 56

Some have gone with OEM GT350 specs

19x10.5 ET 30 & 19x11 ET 62

And some have gone square for track purposes

19x11 ET 50 with a spacer and extended studs (only for the regular 350) as the R comes with 3" front studs

Also factors to take into consideration is some classes for SCCA and HDPE require OEM widths plus minus 7 mm on the offset for range.

SCCA CAM-C FTW! And is only .07 softer index than A Street. Honestly, that's ridiculous but I am NOT complaining.
