I was quoted $650 here in Miami. I still haven’t installed my kit for this same reason. I hope it goes better for you than me.

Pff I'll do it for $200 in Atlanta; be done in an hour. :)
Pff an hour? What did you do for 30 minutes of that hour :headbonk:

It took me longer to download and flash the tune (about 15 minutes) than it took for the actual install of the parts.

My local ford dealer referred me to a local performance shop and told me they charge $500 and that includes a dyno. I don't want the dyno for this type of upgrade and I'm not paying $500 for that job. If I was throwing on a procharger..... I'd want the dyno. I spoke with my local independent shop (not ASE Cert) and they gave me some names of ASE guys that would be good to use. I'm expecting they will be much less than the $500 given the simplicity of the install. I would do it myself, except worth to have ASE mechanic do it to preserve warranty.

Any ASE tech (or idiot with a couple wrenches) should be able to install this in less than an hour. I'd expect the book rate for an ASE tech to be about $100 per hour, so...that's what I'd max labor at.

I installed the last one I did for 1hour shop time, or ~$100. Anything more, is just ripping someone off, I think.

$tealerships are alw$$ more $$. Cost me $150 @ a local speed shop. Just make sure you get the mechanics ASE# if u want to retain warranty.

Not entirely true, depends on the dealer. I am honest in with my install times, sounds like some are not though.

Ken Brody Ford in Carlsbad wanted $400 so I just did it myself. Very easy install. It only took a few minutes to download the tune. Ken Grody has another dealership in L.A. or Orange County if you prefer a dealer. Very nice performance gains for minimal effort.

My Ford dealer charged me $125.00, no reason they should charge more than an hour for labor

Well, lucky you. I would have paid a dealer that much. At first my dealer told me $300 then a few minutes later said $400 because "the tune takes a long time to load." I knew from posts on this forum that the tune only takes a few minutes to upload. I don't regret doing it myself. Everything costs more in CA. But, hey, I haven't shoveled any snow for the last five years.

If your going to keep modding, then find a reputable speed shop and start that way. That’s what I did, and now they do everything to my car I can’t. Very knowledgeable for advice to. I typically reach out to them before purchasing a mod. They shoot me straight. Good luck:cheers:

My dealership charged me 2 hours of labor. Took them longer as they had a problem downloading the tune from Ford Racing but they honored the 2 hours. May be more than it should but i had another dealership stipulate 3 hours but “no guarantees”... the 2 hour dealership became “my dealership” even though i took delivery from the other.

Was this the dealership you purchased your vehicle from?
