Has anyone enlarged the opening at the top of the strut tower to access camber plate adjustment on these cars yet? I'm about to throw in some camber plates and they really won't be accessible otherwise without dropping the whole assembly. It doesn't seem like I'd lose anything structural to just open it up. What do you guys think?

Those bastards are actually really hard metal, thought of doing that with my coils on my 15....

Some of the Road Course guys have done that for coil tops like those you have.

That's what I'm doing it for too. Yea it does look like some hard metal. I figured that was going to be a tough cut. Hopefully it's not too crazy :-/.

Who is the maker of that CC plate?

How does it say to adjust those after being installed on the car?

With my plates I've been told I can open up the top of the strut hole enough to max out the plates but not to go past that - no point. I'm guessing that'd be like 1/8" taken off all the way around? Maybe a little more, not sure.

Yea thats why I have that caliper out. I measured the max positions of the set screws to see how wide to make the opening. Looks like 2.5" hole saw is what it's going to take.

Yep.

Pedders for their coilover kit. The camber plates came with zero instructions. The coil overs like many budget kits don't really include any non-generic instructions. Like it's literally one page that says take the old stuff out and put our stuff in, no specifics. I got the plates from CJ Pony Parts and their product page suggested dropping the whole assemblies and effectively adjusting off-car. That's a hard no for me.

couple of guys over here running pedders + their top plate shipped from the states (the plate don't come with the Uk version of pedders so we have to order it separate from the states)
None as far as I'm aware have opened up the top of the turret but all have been able to adjust the them just fine one is running very very aggressive -ve camber and he's managed to adjust it out as is.

Are they adjusting them off-car? I'm not sure how you'd get in there to adjust on-car. Since the camber plate sits inside the strut tower so the only access is that small hole. The sellers storefront description indicates that it's an off-car adjustment. That's not going to work for me since it's a track car and will add a lot of time to frequent alignment processes.

When I had that style I adjusted the camber plates first and then fine tuned with the camber bolt.

Yea my take is that is what they want me to do and I bet it's fine for street and light HPDE use. For me the small opening is going to certainly limit camber since the strut poking out of that hole on top of the strut tower will be limited in it's range by the diameter of the hole. The top of the strut will move with the camber and eventually hit the edge of the hole.

Also since the car is destined to be 100% track use I plan to be doing a ton of test & tune days until she is ready. I can see this becoming a real pain in the butt if I have to drop the assembly more than a few times as geometry gets adjusted to find what feels right for me.

It "should" be ok. I cant imagine much if any kind of loads are being transmitted through that area.
