Strut Tower Brace for EBM

Is there a significant difference in only having the strut tower brace without the cowl brace? Just installed the strut tower brace from a PP car but I do not have the cowl brace. Wondering how much of a difference it would make.

The cowl brace makes a difference. If I could only have a cowl or a strut brace, I'd choose the cowl. Of course the cowl brace its not also a cosmetic part so the tower brace is more popular. So if I just had the tower like you, I'd grab the cowl part when you can. Since a few people are throwing them away when they get an extra in a combo, you might be able to find one cheap.

Do Not use this style Strut Tower Brace. It has flex joints on each end which defeats the purpose of a strut tower brace. It is just eye candy.

On to the important Stuff. The Cowl brace Cross Member http://www.villagefordparts.com/oe-ford/fr3z16k038a is an important component of the Strut Tower Brace system found on the GT PP cars. This completes the triangle bracing system and you will feel a deference in your steering response.

RonStang is correct, either the FPP or the Steeda with the cowl brace would be better and stiffer. Mine was just a fun project and has minimal real impact to performance, not unlike many things that we do to our cars. Besides... who doesn't like eye candy? ;)

Seems like the winner is Cowl brace and Steeda tower brace. Thanks guys. I'm probably going to buy the Steeda and find a cowl FS on here used. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find a PP ecoboost when I was buying so I have some catching up to do before track season comes around.

Crap, if I knew someone would have wanted it, I would have given you mine for the shipping cost. I just threw it away. Look for someone that bought a FP brace that has the PP which already comes with the cowl brace.
