Things have moved pretty quickly, at least in the context of orders for these cars. I know that many of you have waited months - if not a year-plus - for your R, so I can't complain. The past couple of weeks have been a bit hectic, though, due to Ford getting ready to wind-down base 920A R production.

But, the upside to all of the activity is this...........

If it weren't for PP0001 and Tomster helping me with Ford and the dealership / zone reps, I seriously doubt my order would have made it this far. Thanks guys - you're both outstanding representatives of our hobby and your willingness to help a fellow enthusiast will not be forgotten.

Looks like JR??? will be built the week of 3/26. Ford Performance confirmed this morning that the order is now solid and that a window sticker should be available in the next couple of weeks.

Guess I better get busy planning my trip to pick it up. The dealership is in Florida and I'm located about an hour west of Chicago. Since I'm trading H2614 in, I'll be hauling it down in a friend's huge enclosed trailer, then loading up the new R and bringing it home. My little 4Runner would never pull a trailer that size, so I have a nice diesel 1-ton pick up on stand-by.

H2614 is just about ready to go. I pulled it out from its winter slumber recently and began prepping if for trade. As I get a little closer, I'll include some pics here and details in case anyone is interested in getting a really nice Shadow Black '17 (base - no electronic pack or convenience pack) without stripes.

Sunset Ford in St Louis has a (not grabber) blue w/flat black stripes (and the red pinstripes) on the showroom floor right now. I didn’t get to talk to anyone, but there’s no ADM on the door, sticker, or displayed anywhere on the car.

It's a '17 lightning blue and is listed on their website at $94,499.... but at least that includes the electronics pack! Could be worse - could be $94,500.

I hear ya' there, man.... I won't relate in a public forum my wife's reaction when I told her, with much excitement in my voice, that I wanted to trade in a perfectly good car that we really like (plus a bunch more money) for what in her eyes is the same thing.

Being the wonderful woman she is, though, she ultimately came around - or at least just decided to tolerate me for a little while longer. But, for sure I don't want to be a fly on the wall at the next bunco game where they all talk about the stupid things their husbands do... hope that one is at somebody else's house.

Man I thought I was the only one that had to face the "but it's the same thing!" argument!

She likes jewelry, so I have a deal with a small local shop and tend to try and keep something on-hand, hidden in my shop, for those times that I may need a little peace offering. Seemed like a good idea, until the time she gave the green-light on yet another hair-brained car adventure and early the next morning woke to a nice package. She asked me how I got it, since the store wasn't open yet..... then I saw the realization in her eyes as she said "you actually keep something around just in case?!?"

Oops.......

Yet another accessory purchase for the R - a set of 74" long Race Ramps to ease the transition into my trailer. These are the RR-TR-7 version, which are 7" tall at the highest point and have an approach angle of 5.5* so no clearance issues with the splitter.

Got a good deal from Summit Racing, too - $365 with free shipping.

What is the construction on these? How about the dimensions & offset?

TIA
