About to take a hammer to my system here. That wifi bullshit keeps popping up halfway through updating and causes the update to just stop.
The WiFi prompts when I had the bug os stops after awhile until restart? Idk what you can but turn off WiFi and auto update and pray. Update only the OS file so that it’ll be done within 2-5 minutes and avoid the prompt? I wasn’t aware that it stops the update though.

Turning off wifi and the auto update does nothing. The prompts still come up every time I start the car or am going through an update attempt. Even a master reset doesn't reset my system. Been like this since I first installed 3.0 and a royal pain in the ass :headbonk:

I successfully update my sync 3 non-nav to the 2.3 version from the ford owner website using a 64gb samsung usb 3.0 thumbdrive. It took about 30 minutes to complete. The version 2.3 did fix my issue with the 2.2 version not reading out the text messages for my moto z android phone.

I also have an 3.0 17286 version. I am unsure if I should update to it yet.

I got a trick I wonder if you wouldn't mind trying. Go into the setttings and then wifi and then delete the saved setting of whichever wifi your connected to. Then either do one of two things, go to a place where you have wifi for free and connect to that, or turn your phone temporarily into a hotspot wifi and connect to that, then see if the prompt appears or not. Just curious.

Cause like I said I had this happen to me when I first updated to 3.0 also, the way I fixed it was to delete the setting to my wifi and re-entered the info to my router and I havent had this issue since.

You’ll find a way haha. Drive half hour, close prompt throughout and then plug in usb. It’ll work eventually... :(

Does the message that pops up when updating give you the options of saying "later"? The Ford instructions for 2.3 on a 2017 refer to that message and tell you to select "later"

Nope.

I made some progress by starting my car, connecting to my phone's wifi, and then trying the update.

It's still stopping half-way through though saying that the USB stick has been removed. I'm going to try another stick tomorrow and see if it works to rule it being fault of the stick.

Here is my autoinstall in case anyone can spot this being fault of my autoinstall -

Code:
; Gen 3 - Assembly Update - NonNav/NEU - 18025

[SYNCGen3.0_3.0.18025_PRODUCT]
Item1 = HB5T-14G386-TBB
Open1 = SyncMyRide\HB5T-14G386-TBB.tar.gz
Item2 = GB5T-14G386-SB
Open2 = SyncMyRide\GB5T-14G386-SB.tar.gz
Item3 = JR3T-14G391-BD
Open3 = SyncMyRide\JR3T-14G391-BD.tar.gz
Options = AutoInstall

; 2nd half
[SYNCGen3.0_ALL]
Item1 = JR3T-14G423-BA
Open1 = SyncMyRide\JR3T-14G423-BA.tar.gz
Item2 = JR3T-14G381-AL
Open2 = SyncMyRide\JR3T-14G381-AL.tar.gz
Item3 = GB5T-14G386-AA
Open3 = SyncMyRide\GB5T-14G386-AA.tar.gz
Options = AutoInstall,Delay,Include,Transaction

when the sync 3 update page is completed lets be mindful of others and not overload the servers at once, so I should go first and we should form a line-up and take turns :lol:

You can try deleting everything and only installing JR3T-14G381-AL.tar.gz with the only option being auto install. Did you rename your files? JR3T-14G381-AL.tar.gz Has some numbers after AL
