NEW SYNC 3.0 Build 20204 Nav Android Auto/Apple Carplay

so version 18025 is floating around and was able to get the change log on it:

1. sound quality improvement over older versions especially build 17276
2. improvements/bug fixes for voice recognition
3. bug fix over ios 11.2.5 with applink connectivity issues

Can confirm its working with no issues.

1) Can anyone that has 18025 tell me if the Voice recognition is improved in recognition over 17276?

2) Did they correct the issue with the weather app in sirrus being fixed where the word "Cloudy" no longer says "?loudy".

3) Is the Map updated as well?

Also I ran across a PDF which has versions 3.2 in the list, anyone confirm if this is beta versions, or is this just a the same version with a different number?

dont try any of the 3.2 versions, our 16-18 APIMs dont have the correct partition to make it happen, we have 1GB space, 3.2 needs 1.5GB space apparently.. you'd need hardware changed first

Many Beta builds are larger than the final compiled version as the code had not been streamlined and has de-bug code in addition to the code being tested. Debug might be in another partition for isolation and the test systems will have additional space.

I find it hard to believe that v3.x would be designed so that it would not work on the current HW.

Thanks for the info, but any answers to the 3 questions? The first two are the annoying ones, and other then the posted change log, nothing more elaborate in the changes or added features?

The one thing I wish they would add to the voice recog system is put back the ability to tell it to go to the home screen from any screen your on. Utterly annoying that you cant, and if you can, I havent found the magic word yet.

ford released this SSM regarding wifi popup on 3.0..apparently factory installed vehicles also come with this issue



1/31/18: "Jan 31 2018 5937 - 2018 Various Vehicles - SYNC 3 - SYNC WiFi Update Message Displayed Every Key Cycle

Some 2018 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC 3 and a 6, 8, or 10 inch screen may show a pop up message every key cycle that states "SYNC can check for updates when connected to a WiFi network". To remove the inconvenience of the pop up the customer can either connect to a trusted WiFi network to complete the set up process or turn off WiFi in the WiFi settings located under the Settings menu.Adjusting the setting for the customer is not a warrant-able defect."

Unfortunately, still doesn't work for me :frusty: Wifi on, wifi off...still pops up every time.

I did some comparing of the autoinstall.lst from the 3.0 and the official 2.3 firmwares. I looked through I list I have and I found a reference to every file from the 2.3 firmware in the list and what it was except this: HB5T-14G387-AAB Can someone tell me what this file is in reference to? My list does have this file as existing, yet it is in the official firmware I downloaded from ford.

I think that's the tarball that undoes the fork for the 16 & 17 MY.
