Yup I reached out to the dude that puts together the kit for this mod and its pretty reasonably priced for all oem stuff. Which makes my decision on which car to get much easier. I will likely do this mod within days of purchasing the car.
That leads me to the next question.... What do you guys think a fair price is for a 16' track pack with under 10k in miles? It seems the ones I find in the Tri-state area are priced much higher than some ive found in Va or further out states. I may need to travel in order to get a more reasonable deal. Most of these cars have been sitting on these lots for extended periods of time and at now two model years older. I assume they paid people too much on their trade and now are stuck with them?

If I do this swap what is involved with getting the exhaust toggle switch to work?

Also do the duel cabin temperature now work?

Thanks

how hard is the forscan to use?

You need an OBD plug in device as shown in the stickied thread, a laptop, the software from FORScan, and you. A bit of reading and you are good to go. When I did it things were just getting rolling but it is much easier now as everything you need to do has already been done and documented.

Exactly why would you need nav if you have a smart phone? I have the tech pack and still use my phone nav interfaced with the Sync system...waste of money...The nav system should be eliminated and the cost benefit should go to consumer.

Where I live, if you're seen with your phone in your hand while behind the wheel, it's a $543 fine for a first offence, $888 for a second offence and $3,000 for each one thereafter. The government is happy to save you a little cash, though: they review your license after a second offence, and unless your driving record is pretty much perfect, your license will be suspended long enough that you'll only face the $888 fine and a longer suspension if you're caught a third time.

I did the 8" screen upgrade and now, depending on where I'm going, I choose between Sync3 and Android Auto.

Okay, well I will admit to writing long and complicated dissertations while driving on my phone, I understand the potential fine. I don't recommend it. So I can put my phone down and still hear the audio directions through my speakers that cut into whatever I am listening to to override the radio.

Nav is a complete waste.

I wanted nav but wanted the Track Pack option even more on my '16. On a drive from NY to GA I figured I'd just buy a suction cup mount for my phone and drive away and all would be good.

Um yeeeaaaah. It absolutely sucked. No matter where I mounted it I couldn't see the tiny detail on my phone without futzing with it. Then the sun hitting my phone put it in some sort of anti-meltdown mode so I had to place it in front of an A/C vent and continually blast it with cool air. Major suckage.

Fast forward to a second trip to GA but now with nav installed. HUGE difference and well worth the price of admission. I was able to shift my focus to the whereabouts of law enforcement instead of squinting at my cooktop phone screen.

So, what you do is you bluetooth in your phone nav, and the voice broadcasts over the speakers. I've never once used my Sync-3 nav.

If you are looking for a way to stare at your cellphone nav, you are not doing it right.

Audio is nice but many like to see the map. No comparison between a cell phone and an 8" screen.

Actually, most of the time I'm using the Nav system (Sync3 or Android Auto) for traffic information. I usually know where I'm going, but the traffic has to be real time and it has to be visual.
