So installed my Stage 2 Whipple with the 132Mm TB and have 2 issues. I think Whipple has a hand on both but thought I would post to see if others have had an issue and to let others know in case they have an issue.

1. the 105991 ECT2 harness was missing from my kit. Not a big deal they are shipping me one.

2. when I started up it idles at about 1550 RPM and afte ra bit pops a P0507 code. Talking with tech support they told me to take apart the Throttle Body and rotate the magnet back a bit to get the orientation correct. Apparently about mid way through the 2016 production Ford started having a variance in the electronic on the TB that can cause the installation of the electronics on another TB to require some adjustment. The issue for me was whoever assembled the TB used lock-tight Red on one of the retaining bolts for the magnet retainer and it dripped under the magnet so it will not come out. Whipple is sending me a preassembled TB with all th electronics already in place and calibrated by them so that should fix that issue.

I have smoke tested the install and the only place any smoke came out was the throttle body so I hope that fixes me when FedEx runs Tuesday. Its gonna be a long few days waiting looking at my 2017 mustang with a beautiful Gen 3 Whipple on the top and not being able to hear her scream. I hate doing a lot of work and not being able to see the rewards when I am done.

Glad you found the issue and whipple fixed it up. I too had a leak around the TB. My blower head unit had been banged against something before it was shipped to me, the corner had an edge that was not flat. The TB would not mate directly up against it and created a leak. So big I could slide a dollar bill between the TB and blower. After massaging the dent down the leak was fixed. When it was leaking the idle was too high and triggered a cel.

true that they should pay for return shipping
Good luck with that, there are more crappy vendors than ever. I’ve been hit a few times with having to pay return shipping on defective items, pisses me off.

Any damage would've been done in freight, we wouldn't ship a damaged head unit. If done in freight, then it would've been up to either freight company/insurance or our packing issues. If our issue, we would arrange freight to pick up the unit or work with customer to repair it if optional.

Very rarely does the freight company pay for damage. It's sad they they call it declared value. My Kenne Bell showed up damaged in a destroyed box from UPS. After weeks of arguing with UPS they still denied the damage. UPS said the only way they cover damage is if it was packed by their store. Kenne Bell stepped up and replaced it for me.

yup, this is UPS's standard mode of operation. I've been in their sorting and shipping facilities and if a packaged isn't packed like it's going into a war zone it's a 50/50 chance it will survive.

So you're saying liability for shipping damage lies on the customer per your policy? It's not unusual but I probably would just not ever take the risk as a customer since carriers are just too unreliable. I've shipped stuff to customers before just to have to file a claim when stuff is completely destroyed in transit just to have paypal & fedex collude to avoid responsibility, so I understand why you're policy is that way. However, customers have to worry about themselves as well, since they're absorbing the retail cost instead of material cost.

as far as i'm concerned the "customer" should have zero financial responsibility for the shipment until it reaches his destination. they have zero control over how it's packaged or treated in transit. the shipper buys the insurance and chooses the shipping method and they should bear all financial risk for said package until it reaches it's destination.

Absolutely correct and why i.ask for signature require for big $$ items. That way if the packaging is all jacked up it's going back.
