With my Whipple S2, I swear it’s hard to launch it from a stoplight in 1st if I want to say, go for a fast 0-60. 1st is so short and the power so great, I feel like the traction is barely there. I have the stock PP summer tires.

But bc of this, I feel like I can’t get of the whole fast. What’s the optimum shift pattern off the line for a quick jolt?

Tire is your biggest problem. 3.73 is your next problem. Combine that with the PD supercharger and you’re SOL. Drag Radial, 3.31 and Flight controls will help.

I take 25% out of first and 15% out of second with the flight control. Even with this, traction can still be an issue. The most you can go in 1st gear is like 3/4 throttle, short shift at 6,000rpm into 2nd and gradually 3/4 to full throttle, short shift at 6,000rpm into 3rd and then you can go full throttle and just do some steering correction as the car tends to kick out to the left a little.

It definitely takes a lot of practice to get a feel for how much gas you can give the car in the first 2 gears. The flight control helps make it more manageable. With the stock Pzeros and 30+psi, you need to leave the line off of idle and not try to clutch dump it at lets say 3,000 rpm or so. Don't even bother with launch control.

Last time I had the car dyno'd, I set the flight control to -25% to see what kind of power it still makes on 93 octane....480whp and 390 ft lbs fwiw

Ditch those tires too. When I first did my Whipple, I was spinning those things in 1-2-3. I put 305 NT555R's on and they hooked much better

I don't think I have flight control downloaded. I'd have to contact Whipple.
My car came with Whipple already installed (bought used).

I have a lot of success with the General G-Max AS05 all season tire. Drives well in the snow and hooks better than the Pzeros in the warm weather. Very affordable as well!

Thanks but I don't care about snow or cold weather really. I'm in San Diego and it's not a DD driver.

I think I'm going to go with Continental Extreme Contact Sports. I've got 5500mi on the stock Pzeros. Yes they pretty much suck. They'll be gone soon.

For sure get some 305/45r17 Mickey Thompson ET SS drag radials...you won't look back!

But those don't handle around turns like the Continentals for Michelin SS.
I guess if pure handling is your goal...which I only saw stoplight traction being a concern, MP4S are the tire for you..

We do many supercharger installations here at FL location and there is a minimum amount of suspension work we require with the supercharger install just to make it so the power can be put to the ground.

The base kit we use on all our supercharge installation starts with the Steeda Mustang Ultimate IRS 'Stop the Hop' Package.

A stiffened subframe allows the car to increase traction to the rear wheels and is the first step towards eliminating wheel hop.

The Package Includes:

555-4437 - Steeda Mustang IRS Subframe Bushing Support System

555-4438 - Steeda Mustang IRS Subframe Alignment Kit

555-4121 - Steeda Mustang Billet Aluminum Vertical Links

555-5754 - Steeda Mustang IRS Subframe Support Braces

555-4120 - Steeda Mustang Adjustable Rear Toe Links

The goal of the ‘Stop the Hop’ package is to reduce the deflection found in the stock suspension and allow the suspension to work properly without adding any “NVH” (noise, vibration, harshness).

Happy to put you in contact with our build team to discuss - happy to help!

Best Regards,

TJ

I ordered F/R Firehawk Indy 500s. For the price they are unbeatable. Had them on a previous car and loved them.

I have a feeling they'll be better than these Pirellis.

You need to run a really tall slick... Try the Hoosier 28x10x17, at the track only lol.. With those gears you need the tallest tire you can fit
