Yes I tried using a vcm 2 with ids latest version it would not work.
Ok and if I am reading this right, it would not even take OEM 18 data?

IDS won't work for what you are trying to do... it does VIN validation before allowing module programming. If that IPC doesn't belong with the detected VIN from the BCM/PCM it will not program anything on it.

You would need to use IDS on a bench with a different programmed VIN or use FORScan for writing as-built.

Curious... what are the dimensions of the rear cluster housing of that new cluster?... where the port is and such... It is usually a rectangular metal part.

The plug is in the same position, but the whole back is a metal heatsink different than the MKZ ones I want to put in my 14 Explorer Sport. I had to cut the plastic piece behind cluster in the dash for it to fit. Waiting on forscan i guess to update i sent them my log files.

Yes that is correct, I was aware the back is metal. I was curious on the dimensions (mainly width), if it was the same size that the 10" lincoln style clusters use or if it is actually longer. I know the older 10" digital clusters had a lot of wasted space, which is why I was curious lol.

I know it is the same width as the old cluster but it has two connection points on the sides that are wider than the cluster itself. You do good work by the way I read alot of your posts over in the fusion forum. I want to hopefully add the heated steering wheel to my mustang some time after we get this cluster worked out. Hopefully tomorrow someone is going to help me try to get it working right.

Was able to flash asbuilt today with help, to 2018 LCD Cluster . Have transmission gears working, no check engine lights. For some reason my RPM gauge does not work any more, no steering wheel switch not working either.

Now that the cluster is initialized and will accept ABD, I would start playing with the ABD values until you can resolve the RPM gauge. We know it will work with some combination of ABD.

Does your steering mode switch work or are you referring to the pony button?

My id's license is up will have to see if forscan will work now or soon. Probably going to buy heated steering wheel and try that and hopefully later add that as well. Think I need 18 sccm module that would not program

So the drive mode switch does something but it will not actually select a mode... Interesting

Drive modes function between the FCIM, IPC, and ABS module. I would try programming the FCIM first to see if you can get them functional. Since it does actually display in the cluster though it leads me to believe the solution will be in programming the ABS module.
