Good luck with the Chrysler, according to most reliability sites, Chrysler is in a last place tie with Range Rover. Lemon aid guide is full of not recommended Chrysler.

Take it in for warranty...why are people so scared about doing this? My car is rock solid into 3 digits and has been since day 1. Don't accept it as "what the car is". It's got something not quite right and not design intent. Go get it fixed...
This would make for interesting warranty work.

"um, yeah. When my car hits triple digits, it's not rock solid. If the dealership can get that fixed, that would be great".

I can understand the frustration with customer service aspect. Good luck with dodge. Hopefully should the need arise you get better CS.

For the record I'm not a fan boy. This is my first mustang and second ever Ford out of12 or so vehicle. Mostly always had gm trucks or Tahoe.

Out of curiosity what issues with tundra? I know certain years had common issue with an air pump or something crapping out? Mine was a 15 and was flawless for 2 years and 45k miles. Though there definitely were people i saw posting who had issues.
it was a 2007 Tundra 5.7 V8 4x4 with a 4.30 rear end, first year for the BIG tundras. when it worked, it towed and hauled like nobody's business. I bought it because my previous 4 runner and Tacoma were pretty near perfect and I needed a full size truck. New off the dealer lot so not a beat up used one. First thing to go within a year or so, the transfer case just quit doing any thing, leaving me stranded in the middle of nowhere, I swear I heard banjo music too. Got that fixed, then the front passenger side half shaft pretty much disengaged it self from the front differential. got that fixed. then a year or so later, driver side door rattled. took off the door card and the intrusion bar (the beam that is supposed to help in side impact) was no longer welded on in the leading edge of the door frame. Then there were various window seal leaks that started around the time the plastic front grill chrome started cracking and peeling. that was 5 years in on a truck that was garage kept. I had to stick it out with that truck just so I wouldn't lose my shirt in a trade in. So finally in 2014 at 65,000 miles, I thought I could trade it in and do ok. on the way to the dealer, a kid in an s10 crossed the mid line, hit me head on. no one was injured and luckily it totaled my truck. Surprisingly and unbelievably, I got more than I paid for it new due to the ridiculous increase in Tundra prices. I've been in a ram 2500 6.4 4x4 since then. a few squeaks and rattles but pulls like a freight train and so far more dependable than my tundra. BTW, wife has a 2015 Tacoma currently. been decent so far.

If you are one of the lucky ones who has a great dealer service department, then this is my question too. but if it's been anything like my dealings with warrantee issues, it's not fear, it's frustration. it's not just ford either, its imports and other US makes. I used to take my vehicles in for issues I thought should be rectified under warrantee only to be treated like I was a ungrateful whiner. Things like a leather wrapped steering wheel unwrapping itself on a new car, not little minor things. ultimately it takes serious arguing just to convince the service manager it indeed is a warrantee issue. if not, you drive around the rest of the day going dealer to dealer doing the same thing.

then once someone approves the warrantee work, everything you need is backordered. so they keep your car for 2 weeks. finally, after you get your car back, you have to ask "why is there all of this melted rubber on my rear quarter panel?" or "why does it now clunk and pull to the right?"

sometimes it's just easier to get a new car. atleast if you're going to have to watch a dog and pony show and participate in a shell game, you get a new car out of it. And you get a new turn at shooting craps.

He did say from 80-100. There are plenty of reasons why that should be appropriate for warranty work.

Man, or Girl it seems, I just sold my 392 Scat Pack to buy my GT-pp. The 392 is a fine straight line car, i owned 3 Challengers btw, But was an absolute dog on any twisties. Car weighs 4200lbs, a PP GT with a stage 2 mod should be faster in a straight line too. I absolutely Love the GT in the twisties, it just kicks azz. I believe you may have made a mistake.

Hope you enjoy your new ride. I have had SRT8 Charger, Jeep, Scatpak Challenger and Charger. Loved everyone one of them. After getting rid of my 2015 GT I decided to go back to Dodge and picked up the Charger Scatpak. Within weeks I started to have issues with the car. While I was stopped at a red light it would tell me to place the gear in park and select desired gear, understand this is while i was stopped at a red light. After this happening several times I took the car into the dealer. They could not make it happen again and give me the car back. Once it did it again I took a picture of the screen showing what I pointed out above. I then took it back in. They kept the car for two weeks with no results. Due to the holidays they said I could come get my car and they would talk to a Dodge engineer after the holidays to try and find the issue. Over the holidays the car ran great and I installed a CAI the only mod I had made to the car. Once I returned the car to the dealer to see if they could find the issue they called me and said that they would not work on the car because it was modified and Dodge told them to not work on it until it was returned to stock.

So just like you I became frustrated and moved on from Dodge. I still think they are great cars but customer service isn't any better than what you have describe you received from Ford.

Damn! That's quite the story haha. "Glad" so to speak it got totaled on way to dealer. I was dead set on buying used truck when i was looking but damn trucks are expensive now. Used 14 was like 1500 or 2000 less than new at dealer i ended up at. Said screw it and bought new after searching within 500 miles of San Antonio and not finding anything at good price and decent miles.

I looked hard at a loaded ram 1500 but it had too many miles for my taste. Also the2500s but couldn't stomach the price.

If i went back to a truck I'd seriously consider a Tacoma. Though i think they're not much cheaper than tundra?

Unless the car has a cel or you mandate the foreman rides with you and don't let him out until he confesses there is a problem, Ford dealerships love to come back with " normal characteristics for this platform bs". I took my completely stock car up to 92 mph and it scared the shit out of me. 3 road force balances three different shops ( I paid for) later and still persists. My car has 16,500 mles. Rode smooth as day for the first 3000. Oh and I have taken it to two other dealers....guess what they said? Like I said CEL or it's trucked in.

Well it sucks that you had issues with your car and I’m glad you’re happy with your Dodge. I’m on 24k miles with my 2015 and have had no issues like that. My car is mechanically stock and a V6 but that wouldn’t make it immune to issues. I will say that my dealership has been nothing but great with my Wife’s Escape which had a couple of issues but was taken care of right away with little to no fuss and no cost to us. Dodge I have heard is no great thing when it comes to reliability and I know people who think that while they look and perform great- when they work, they’ve had some major issues with their cars and the dealerships been pretty bad. That’s of course anecdotal, so I’m not bad mouthing Dodge just stating experiences I’ve seen/heard. The Mustangs a great car and the best one I’ve ever owned but I’m sure there will be issues eventually. When there are I’ll deal with them and my dealership will work with me as they’ve done for my wife as well.

Sorry to hear about your fall out with Ford ....

And that you had such a bad experience with your Ford Mustang. In my personal experience with a wide range makes and models of cars all I can say that sometimes its just the luck of the draw. Sometimes you end up with a bad apple, doesn't mean they are all bad. Many Mustang owners will tell you here on this forum that they love their Mustangs and never had a serious problem with them.
That is what the Ford Warranty is for to address problems that were missed out of manufacturing. Then it falls back to the Ford dealer to correct the issue. Again sometimes we have bad luck at a certain dealership but we all have the choice to go to another. Really boils down to time and patience when it comes to certain issues and of course your investment and emotional attachment to the car.

In the end I think you picked a Hell of a car.

Enjoy your new ride and remember to live a 1/4 mile at a time.
