I cant bring myself to spend the money to get the Mantic.

Who is running the RST on this kind of power and how is it holding up? Seems like the only cost effective option that wont destroy my MT 82..:brokenheart:

You can get a lot through researching, but from what I have gathered (before I dropped my load on a Mantic) is the RST similar to the stock clutch will do great behind 7 even 800whp if DONT try to launch it on sticky tires or try to power shift it through the gears, or have sticky tires and try to do a rolling 2nd gear pull. If you do those things, itll slip and be done for.

Haven't really got a definite answer. I have done some research.

My car will be seeing track time and sticky tires. 1900.00 is a lot for a clutch setup.. I wonder how much they'd take off if the shipped it in a box and not that aluminum case...

I strongly recommend against the RST then, based on my own research.

I you search "RST vs RXT" or "RST slip" you should find plenty of posts

Go the organic version of the Mantic 9000. It’s a few hundred cheaper and has plenty of holding power for what you are talking about. This is the route I’m going and I’m Whippled as well. The organic discs are also more forgiving to the transmission over the ceramitallic allowing more slip engagement. Remember that Mantic rates their clutches based on torque and not HP and have a 1.5 safety factor and the organic is rated at 600 ft/lbs torque and if you add the safety factor, it handles 900 ft/lbs torque. Plus, when you add a flywheel, throw out bearing and install tool/bolts and yes, a fancy case, you’re not that far away from the same cost when you add it to another brand. Call them and talk to them.

Well, I don't think the RXT has a sprung hub which really seems to be a MUST with the MT-82.

I'm in the same boat as the OP. I'd really like to go Mantic, but if I knew the RST would hold up to regular 7,500+rpm shifts, I'd do the RST for the cost savings.

For those of you who went Mantic, which vendor did you purchase through? I usually purchase all my parts from Terry as he is only 1 state over, but I don't see them advertised on his site.

Maybe get some crazy group buy going on, as from what I can tell the only reason people shy away from Mantic is due to the price.

The RST does not either...
Also I am pretty sure if you provide some give in the drivetrain somewhere (like CF driveshaft, Bias on rear, etc.) the MT 82 will live.

Can't wait for the guaranteed trans failure with my RXT. You'd think I had a live grenade under the car the way people talk about it.

chi installed my clutch NA first drove 2000 miles. it was good. i did a 91 octane tune with my SC first then followed by an e85 tune.

my street pump gas tune made 674/548 within the 800 hp flywheel rating.

i do NOT suggest this clutch. speed shifting or flatfoot shifting (which i never do) burns every single time 1-2 2-3 3-4. i am not pleased with my RST. and my clutch kit was missing alignment tool when installed was a pain in the ass. first time using this company. i wont be back.

yes proper break in was practiced and i bled
brake fluid reservoir twice. i have to baby it for it to survive. and since it's burned a few times who knows how long it will live???

My Mcleod RST was a piece of junk. From day 1, it would lock me INTO gears when I'd try to go from 3rd or 4th into neutral approaching a traffic light. Then one day, it started making ungodly noises and wouldn't go into gear anymore.

Switched to a Mantic 9000 cerametallic and loved every minute of it.
