can you say how much the costs are for the extended bumper to bumper warranties?
Probably not on open forum. I've asked before just to help and was told no...

Cheaper than rocking a new set of wheels for the street. I'm in. This is just called 'Ford TireCare'? Do I have to purchase at the dealer that sold the car?
You can purchase at any dealer. You can do it on the phone if you trust them running card/emailing copies later.

These were the prices I got...taken directly from my sales paperwork:

"Coming from a Nissan Maxima to my first performance machine like this I actually 'warrantied up' like nobody's business for entire length of the loan:

-6yr / 75k mile Premium Care Plan - cost $3,043 (there is a minor pro-rated co-pay for yrs 4,5,6 iirc)...pretty much covers every system on the car

-6yr / 75k mile / 10 visit Premium Maintenance Plan - cost $2,760 (every 6mos or 7500mi)...covers replacement+labor of everything (disposables) not covered by the Premium Care Plan, right down to wiper blades :D

-6yr TireCare Extended Service Plan - cost $1,850 road hazard protection - any damage from nails, glass, debris, potholes and they replace tire/wheels. No limit on approved claim benefits and no limit on occurrences. I checked with SM at local dealer and CF wheels are def included as they are an OEM part.

So all in all yes they saw me coming and yes I got some clean laundry from getting taken to the cleaners BUT I feel the peace of mind I have had reading many of these threads about various issues is well worth it. I have 6yrs to take notes from all you guys, learn as much as I can and develop a 'proper' mod list :ford:"
I hate being this guy, because I do this for a living...but you could always cancel the tire care and have it prorated/refunded and then repurchase (or tell them you want to cancel if they wont discount some) but that's none of my business :D

"covers replacement of everything (disposables) ...right down to the wiper blades"

Are you saying this covers brake rotors, calipers (if needed), pads? Tires??!
Does not cover tires, windshield, or battery. Pads are covered as well as turning rotors (not beneficial for our cars obviously) but not new rotors.

Hey guys,

I had a brief chat with Paul about this on a different thread but on a surprise milled section of road I had a rock get caught between the Brembo and inner wheel on a drive home from work a couple of weeks ago. This caused a few inch long and about 1/8th inch deep gash that went thru the protective coating on the front right CF rim of my R.

I know the tire/wheel warranty topic has come up before with a lot of differing perspectives on what would happen with the R wheels in particular so I thought I would post about how my experience goes with my local dealer.

I called them up Friday and by Tuesday they called me back saying they had a replacement wheel. I was shocked and for good reason. Turns out they had ordered a regular GT350 wheel. A service tech I trust a good deal from our initial interactions over the last couple of months set them straight :)

I went up to the dealership yesterday so they could take an initial look and my man could further inspect the rotors, calipers, etc and ensure no other parts were damaged. That went smoothly so I'm dropping it off today so they have flexibility to go thru a photoshoot as part of the claims process with the warranty folks. No signs of trouble yet...will keep you all posted.
Having worked with both materials, the damage you described and show with picture is minor. You can easily reapply the ceramic coating to the damaged area with a variety of OTS products.

I wanted to try and re-apply some coating to the affected area on my inner wheel groove from a rock). Do you have any product suggestions?

Just to be clear, we are talking about the white portion on the barrel of the front wheels. VHT and Duplicolor make ceramic spray on coatings in various colors. It is not the exact same formula used on the wheels but will work just the same. The touch up is for serviceability and not aesthetics.

Yes, its the white coating on inner barrel. I had the same occurrence as the OP except my gash goes all the way around. Barely went through the coating. At the time I did call Carbon Revolutions USA office and described what happened, they said the wheel should be fine. They would only speak "off the record" as it is a Ford part technically. Anyway I would like ot touch it up with a ceramic coating, thanks for the product suggestions.

So calipers I would think are not wear and replace items right? They'd be covered for defect under the PremiumCARE plan not the Premium Maintenance Plan. Would have to ask about the rotors as I do not see them on the list for replacement (inspection & maintenance yes). Do not think tires are covered...wasnt part of the pitch at least.

Here is verbiage for some of the "Normal Wear" items:
"This comprehensive plan provides premium protection for your vehicle with routine inspections, preventive care and replacement of normal wear items that require periodic attention, including:
-Engine oil and filter changes
-Multi-Point inspections
-Tire rotations
-Brake pads and linings
-Shock absorbers/struts
-Spark Plugs
-Clutch discs
-Engine belts, coolant hoses, clamps and o-rings
-Wiper blades"

Elsewhere in the plan inspect & rotate tires, coolant, air & fuel filter replacement, transmission fluid change, all other fluids check/fill.

No worries Swedensky...appreciate you sharing what you can! I would ask are you certain the pricing you laid out is for the GT350R? IMO Ford would be foolish to offer this warranty for under $1k on this vehicle. I learn a lot and this particular warranty...even at the price I paid...would more than pay for itself with this 1 claim. And I havent even hit any potholes yet...which is almost inevitable on the roads in my area :/

So what's the verdict? Are they going to cover it?

Update: Picked the car up today. Service adviser said the claim has been approved but will take a couple of days to be processed. From there she gets an authorization to order the replacement and waiting game will begin (i presume).

Please....

Those 6gr wheels were left over from the track pack. They are similar enough to the cf wheels and with the R compound tires..... good enough. I would not want to have to worry about a 4K mistake.

I am glad they covered your claim. Seriously, I was expecting them to deny it.

There are obviously two schools of thought on this one. First is that the car is not the same without the CF wheels and they should be left on. The other is throw a set of forgeline or similar with MPSS or equivalent for street use.

I'm going to save my CF wheels and cup 2 tires for the track. I figure I will get a 3 day weekend out of the oem set and repeat. In the mean time, just use up the stockpile of tires for the street in combination with a wheel that I don't care about that passes for the CF original.
