Bought the Mustang May16 as was told 12 month delivery. Wanted it for registration April17 so after a couple of test drives coughed up a deposit.
It arrived a couple of months early and sat looking a bit sad in the compound until April. In the meantime had to fend off dealership trying to register it although I had an agreement with sales about April registration from the beginning..and they drilled the fricken bumper after repeatedly asking them not to...Registration date then April fools day what an omen... I had a few issues straight away.
1/ The car was supposed to be Diamondbrite? coated for free yet it was covered in black overspray crap all over the bonnet roof and boot. (Did they apply the Diamondbrite on top of the crap?) Dealer took pictures for a warranty claim but I never heard back from them so my local detailers clay barred it for me.
2/ The aftermarket exhaust they fitted came unfastened and fell off the middle hanger. Funny but true...
3/ All of this time the gearbox seemed as noisy as hell and was getting louder. Was it my imagination? I posted some comment about it on here sometime end of April. Anyway:
May 5th - emailed salesman and mentioned the noisy box and other issues - no response. Then I was away on holiday...
May 19th - Salesman phoned me while away and asked me fill in the ford questionnaire. Left a message on the answerphone. Called him back the as soon as I came back and pointed out the issues again. His response was to say that he'd rather I didn't respond to the questionnaire than put anything other that excellent. No response about the issues with the Mustang then!!
May 22nd - Spoke to the sales manager all ears and sympathy but did nothing apart from give me a phone number for service department
May 25th - Brought car in and the 'mustang expert' said that I had an gearbox input shaft bearing fault. Car was booked in on a 3 day slot. If anyone else has had this problem please let me know..
May31st - Dropped the car off first thing morning and was given a dirty crash test Focus. In the afternoon phoned for an update. Guy was a bit vague said they hadn't fixed it yet and I might as well pick it up. So much for the 3 day slot then.
Was told that they needed some parts and they were on back order. Over the next few days I phoned the service department and was told that someone would get back to me which they didn't.
June 8th - When I finally got through to someone they tell me they don't know when they will be able to fix it.
June 9th - I was so fucked off I wrote to @AndyBarrat and the the response from the Ford Executive Office was almost immediate. They contacted the dealer principal a very nice guy who very professionally dealt with this angry customer.
June 12th - The parts on back order were escalated through the ford customer care centre and I was given a case manager. Nice lady very sympathetic. They provided me with a brand new courtesy Kuga.
June 22nd - The parts to repair the car arrived and Ford Customer care called me to let me know.
June 23rd - The dealer called me to let me know the parts were in and to bring the car in Monday morning.
June 26th - I arrived bright and early and dropped off the keys.
June 27th - And then this afternoon a drove past the dealership and it's still fucking sat there exactly where I parked it. My blood pressure is up and I'm angry again...
Story is isn't over but the moral maybe don't buy a ford...:headbonk:
