So today I tried finishing my install of the BMR differential lockout kit. But I ran into a snag. After lowering the sub-frame, I couldn't lift the diff back into the car. After getting help from Mootang, I was able to lift the subframe back into position. However, I was unable to completely install one of the cradle bolts. It was like it kept hitting something. So I have left it in as much as I could, but does anyone know if there is something in the chassis that accepts the bolts that could have been moved around?

Many thanks

Take the cradle bolt out and inspect it. I had to get a new cradle bolt because the threads of the cradle bolt got chewed up when I had trouble trying to tighten it down to spec and I still had a gap. If it's chewed up, clean the shavings and get a new bolt before you try again.

If the bolt isn't chewed up, loosen up the others and get this one tightened down by hand real good first. I used a jack to help push the cradle up too.

For your other question, nothing moves around inside.

Thanks...just ordered a set (all four) from Tasca. Going to install them when I get the Steeda Alignment Bushings. However, I am curious as if to anyone happens to know the length and thread size of these bolts off hand (besides the obvious 21mm bolt head). I might want to go down to my local hardware store to see if they have one in stock (just as a temporary fix).

Wow...no now knows what the size of these big blue bolts are?
I do believe in many of the CJPP videos, as the guy is removing them, he actually states the diameter/length. You may have to watch several video, but the info is in there. :)

I know he states the bolt size (21mm)...but I do not think he states the length.

So this bolt directly screws into the chassis? Is there the possibility there is a J-clip or something else? I just want to make sure before I remove the bolts this afternoon and install the new ones. I don't want to be in a situation where I have to re-tap the threads (or worse take it to the dealer for repairs).

Well...got everything buttoned up yesterday. Thanks for the help...

Now onto my next question. Just ordered a set of Koni yellows and will be installing them with BMR's SP080 springs (ordered those two weeks ago and THEY STILL HAVE NOT ARRIVED) :(.

Anyways, do people think it is necessary that I get the steeda billet shock mounts or can I run with the stock mounts for a little bit.

Glad to hear you got the sub-frame squared away.

The stock mounts work fine with my Konis, but I will probably change them out when I get bored enough. I just worry with new mounts, the shocks possibly getting even closer to my halfshaft boots.

Jump into this video at 10 minutes in for info on the stock mount modification you need for the Konis:
