Carbotech recommended sanding the brake disks with coarse sand paper on a orbital sander. I did that and the everything set in well. While these are not as aggressive as the stock pad they are plenty adequate for all the roads I have been on. To me it is worth the change for the minimal brake dust not to mention no bus-like squealing.

I ran Carbo 12/10 track pads on the street for thousands of miles (Z06) and the trick
was to keep the the build up down, and proper bedding, rebedding as needed.
Nary a squeak....Many complained about these track pads, but I ran through
many sets with little noise.

I would heat them up with some quick stops/ride brakes when first starting out,
and all fine in town driving.

my car never squealed, and then one day it started to so bad it drove me crazy, dealer said everything was fine. i took it into get some work done on the paint, and I have zero understanding why, but it stopped 100 percent. All I can figure is they used a good cleaner when they washed the car.

I have noticed that if I keep them clean, the sound does not come back. I am going back to an older wheel and brake cleaner i used for the first 15k as with it the never made a sound. I think some of the cheaper car soaps have some shit in them that can make it worse.

Yeah that's pretty interesting. The only wheel cleaner I've been using is Chemical Guys Signature Wheel Cleaner. I'll probably give another product a shot real quick before I make another purchase.

I am certain you got a hard set of brake linings. It happens or they got heated up and glazed which pretty much means they're now too hard. That would get under my skin too. I am surprised Hawk doesn't make brake pads yet for these cars. I'm shocked actually. The only thing you can do is swap out the rotors and pads. If you know of anyone with a surface grinder (machine shop) you can hit the lining surface of the pads and grind off about .020 - .030. it would help a bunch then re-assemble and then hit the outer edge of the rotor with a little crocus cloth to clean off any rust prior to re-assembly.

I'll bet it helps.

I have noticed that after cleaning the rotors rust over pretty hard. If you drive the car subsequently I have noticed that the brakes don't squeak. Maybe that rust on the rotors Knocks off some of that glaze.

Completely off topic but when we used to build motorcycle racing engines we would use a trigger spray bottle filled with water and spray the cylinders with a mist of water prior to assembly. We used to let them sit for about an hour and they would form a very light powdery rust residue. We would leave the light powdery rust in place as it would help the rings seat more quickly. It was one of our many tricks.

My brain hurts (been a hectic week) but typically G-LOC GS-1's do not get pre-bed because they do not require bedding of any kind. That said everything we order typically is automatically pre-bed.. but the GS-1's.
Does anyone have a link to what I need so that I can just order this online? Haven't gotten around to calling yet.

well I used some Magiurs wheel cleaner and within 5 min the screech was back. arggggg......
Yeah I can't do it anymore. I ordered my GS-1s about a week ago now and just waiting for shipment. I cannot wait to get these things on. Barely even want to drive the car with how bad the squealing is.
