Best oil catch can

I read all the threads about the catch cans, it looks like the FP one is providing the OEM look but a) its using a mesh filter that over time will turn into mop and b) its not as easy to get the oil out. Bobs is probably best but most expensive and UPR is somewhere in between.

What has been your experience?

Ask 5 different people, get 5 different answers, just like paint protection film. I purchased the UPR catch cans. FP catch can supposedly one of the worst available.

I wanted oem look. Worst? Why? I have no quams with mine. Cleaning and removing oil is not hard nor difficult. Simple syringe to remove oil and alcohol will clean the screen smh. I swear people make things harder for themselves on purpose.

From the amount of oil I see AFTER the FP on my car, I have a feeling it is not catching much... that design is not the best. It does look OEM, and I don't feel these cars need on in fact, so I am not stressed

Mine has caught a LOT!!! especially after a track weekend.

I'm running the FP ones as well for the same reasons stated above. I'm 2,500 miles in and have pulled about two shot glasses worth of oil out of the drivers side. All from street driving, no track days. I have no point of reference since I've never run any of the other catch cans, but the FP ones seem to be doing their job pretty well.

Honestly it is just a "catch-can" nothing complex. Just a screen for the oil to be caught and drip into the container instead of being inhaled by the valve train. Pick one they all work the same it really comes down to looks.

It's much lighter and much simpler. First 300 miles with it installed it caught a small amount of oil. Why is it that my vehicle is collecting so much from the passenger side? Everyone was saying on this engine it's the drivers side.

Anyone had success with getting the dealer to clear the FP oil catch can along with oil changes? I'm thinking of doing a maintenance plan and could see dealers be willing to do this for parts bought at their dealership.

It is the other way... passenger collects oil, driver's side nothing. I had nothing on my driver side after 2 track days, out it went. Barely half a shot of oil after those track days in my passenger side as well....

The passenger side vent is between the throttle body and intake manifold, so it is exposed to high vacuum often, thus sucking in more oily gasses. The drivers side is before the throttle body, with no exposure to high vacuum, therefore, doesn't do much.

Hey, coming from the BMW world, my dealer was happy to service aftermarket items, even if not BMW branded and fully honored the maintenance and servicing warranty. Maybe asking a bit too much for Ford, which is why I asked the question.

It allows the oil to drain back to crankcase. Why is this? I dont get it. Bobs have two distinct canisters on each side but UPR doesnt.
