Yes you're right. Now it fees like a normal car and not straining. From a stop in normal mode before the tune it was ridiculous how you need to take it to past 3.5 k rpms just to get moving in a somewhat decent pace and not get left by everybody on the road, lol.Ford should come out with a PCM update for all EB's to mirror this mapping.
Yeah, I remember taking off from lights and feeling like I had to absolutely floor it to even keep up with normal family sedans.

I'll bet this calibration becomes stock when the V8 is updated for more power next year.
It's actually kind of embarrassing because I've got a cat-back exhaust on my car. Revving up past 3k RPM makes it sound like I'm some boy racer showing off. I need to get tuned ASAP, lol.

Ok. Got my tune and intake installed, and now notice a pop when I'm under moderate to heavy acceleration. It only happens once, usually when I either let off the throttle or when car shifts.

Any clues? I'm stock otherwise and have always ran 93 octane.

I'd guess that something isn't tight, the airbox puts a LOT of strain on the intake tube and it might be wiggling around when the motor moves from the torque.

Checked my install. Everything is clean and tight. I think the engine would drop out before the intake, lol.

Funny thing is, I went out and started the car, reved it up a few times, up to 4500 RPM, and no noise.

Could it be running lean while learning the fuel mapping?

Mine made all kinds of strange noises... it finally settled in (or I got used to it).

The only sound I ever had or read about was at low speed/parking lot driving and that was something opening and closing... could hear it now due to the intake.

That's really what it sounded like, something opening up or closing. Wasn't a crackle or pop, pop, pop, just a single pop.

My procal kit will be here this week (possibly today). I currently have an Airaid intake on my car that I am very happy with. I had the trim plate painted satin black and really like the look. I was going to put it back on after I had the install signed off by ford, but I have decided I will probably just leave the one on that came with the kit. My question is should I modify and use the tube with the Airaid, or just use the factory tube and sell the complete airaid cai? Looking at both tubes, it sure seems as though the factory tube would be a lot more restrictive do to its size, but not sure if it makes a difference. Any thoughts?

The FRPP doesn't come with a tube, it uses the factory tube an connects to a replacement filter basket, so you'll have to dig your factory intake tube out of the closer and put it back on if you want to use it.

Correct. That's what I was referring to.

Keep your tube installed and find a tech to sign off on it.

I just installed mine today and I hear the same thing, when I first rev it, it makes a slight pop like something opening and when it comes off boost a slight hiss, like blow off, I'm guessing I'm hearing the TB working through the open filter perhaps. It'll go for calibration tomorrow, will have the tech check it out. BTW, no revised unit, factory tube is in there tight, but all in all a pretty good fit.

It sounds to me like you're describing the BPV. If you had the stock intake before or any closed box filter like the AirAid, you probably never heard the BPV operating. You may have been able to hear the air bypass hissing although much less. Now with the open filter, you hear them both much louder.

Makes sense, thanks!

So today I took the Stock airbox/AEM/Airaid combo off and put the stock tube and GT350 filter back on. It doesn't take that long to do and I feel like the GT350 filter had significantly better throttle response, so I'm going to drive it tuned for a couple of days like this. I never actually drove it with the tune except back to the house where I swapped to the Airaid tube.

I discovered that installing the whole intake assembled from filter to turbo coupler allows you to push it a little better into place so there isn't so much stress on the coupler, and I also figured out how to get the coolant overflow tank to move even further over so the tube isn't touching it. After about 20 minutes of fiddling with it in nice warm weather with good sunlight instead of a flashlight and 20 degrees I got everything in with nothing rubbing/chafing anywhere.
