The EB should be compared to other similarly priced sport coupes, and EB is such a clear winner. If I had a tighter budget I would take EB over FRS/GTI/whatever.

It is not fair to compare EB to GT. Because for ~30% more $, GT should be better.

Except it is not! With a tune the eco is faster than a GT! And did I mention 37mpg? And less weight so it can actually turn? And cheaper? Cheaper insurance too!

Yeah, its really not that good. I'd be surprised if the Ford tune put down even 265 wheel, official crank numbers are 335hp/390tq. Still nice and peppy but its a heavy car too. Stock 5.0 puts down what, 360-375 depending on the conditions?
Dependent on dyno for sure but I saw a dyno day where the Ford tune put down
289. There were a couple popular protuner tuned car there that did 282 and another was like 286 iirc. So I think the Ford tune is substantially better than people think.
As far as pricing I have not seen a new eco for close to that cheap around here.

I'd like to get mine on a dyno at some point, I've never actually even seen someone post a dyno chart of the Ford tune besides the one they show in their promotional material. Did that car have anything else done to it, or tune only?

37mpg? I've never done better than 23. But I've only got 2 speeds...

Edit: I missed the part where you got that doing 60mph. That is substantially lower than my usual highway speed.

What was this thread about again. Someone mentioned dick size. Another mentioned 37mpg. Which is next to impossible in a Prius. And of course the usual GT guys quit picking on me comments. Could have swore it was just an article comparing the Mustang to a brz. And how the EBs are a good bargain.

Exactly right. I flew to Newport News, Va. because of a deal Hall Ford made me. They picked us up at the airport, signed the papers, went out to eat at a nice place and stayed the night. Drove it home the next day.[/QU
This dealer is literally 2 miles from my house. They do have good prices, and a large inventory.

The moment you put EB or V6 in a thread title is the moment you activate the " i am god, i am faster than a lambo, i am better than everybody because i drive a 35k Mustang GT" part of certain peoples brain.

50-50. I've been accused of being that GT guy even though I proudly owned a S197 V6. It was a fantastic, fun DD. And then you have some of the EB-V6 owners that have their titties twisted at the sight of a GT owner posting in a EB thread. It rubs both ways. It's a shame to. Because the first post was interesting. I didn't know the EBs could be had for that cheap. And my daughter is a hardcore Mustang driver. Who's currently looking for a new car. Since she's in her mid 20s. She could use a deal like described. Not likely to find anything like that kind of deal in Jersey. But still interesting to know they can be had that cheap.

The key to Ecoboost mpg is keeping it out of the boost... (very hard to do now that I have the Ford Performance tune). My overall mpg is a little over 25. I did the 60mph cruise control tests just to see what it could do... it is very sensitive to speed changes. 70-75 mph on cruise control and my mpg drops down to 27 or so. Not using cruise control takes it another couple of mpg down. I got 10 mpg on the track LOL. Using the horsepower it is capable of requires feeding the power with gasoline, and when you use it, it gobbles fuel like a V8. When you don't, it doesn't.

For someone truly interested in getting one, sounds like it would be worth a fun road trip to go get it... be a good excuse to leave Jersey for a few days LOL.

I'm getting right around 27 running back and forth to work every day. When I take it on long trips with a lot of interstate miles, it gets around 32-33 mpg at 70-72 mph. I rarely ever use cruise control and have found I am usually a little better than cruise control is for gas mileage.
I love my ecoboost PP car and would buy it again instead of a GT.

Has anyone considered how the ecoboost is about to be the base model stang. It just appears to me they are adjusting pricing accordingly.

I personally love my ecoboost and think it's a great entry level sports car. Yes there is some stigma with it but I think it's diminishing. I love seeing the look on people's faces when I explain to them my 4 cylinder has 310hp! It seems no one outside the car community knows about the engine because I have had literally no one guess it correctly. I would love to have the GT some day but for my needs and budget that wasn't the best option for me as a first time car buyer. Plus I sorta agree with Jay Leno's opinion in street car power figures.
