How fast have you been on 20s. I'm running 20s on the street and would like a tire that doesn't combust as soon as I crack it in 1st or 2nd. I'm looking for options and I'd like to hear some success stories before I replace the skins. The car runs 10.0s pretty consistently and I'd like a "street tire" that I could grudge race.

Any brand name drag radial is abouit as good as you can do. For a tire that will share street and strip duty. I prefer M/Ts or Nitto NTO5Rs.

NT05r's are the only drag radial I find in a 20.
Those are good ones. I run 305/45-18s on my stalled auto. I cut 1.58-1.64 sixties leaving at 3000RPMS.

I've been able to cut 1.4's and go 9.3's on 20's, MT S/S 305/35. MT is stickier then an NT05R but the nitto has better wear.

Wow. Would you mind sharing your setup with me? I ran 9.87 today with a 1.47 60 on slicks. I have NO suspension mods. Not sure what works and what's a waste of $. I'd like to have a street tire that doesn't explode at every crack of the gas. There are car clubs racing and the local airports also and they don't like slicks.

I have BMR cradle & diff bushings, toe rods, vertical links, performance springs, Viking double adjustable, 3b stall, and an msd 2 step, Bjonnes tune. MT S/S's are about as good as it gets on the street, but I can still kill them at any speed. I recently switched to a set of 18x9 + 17x10 Weld S77B's, waiting for them now and installing MT R's when they arrive.
