Thank you for the info. I thought that might be the case, I am going through my second phase in life wanting to start racing again.I don't really care about options since it will be mostly for racing. It just seems like a great platform to start with. The only things you're missing out on are suspension/brakes/wheels. If you plan on modding, the engine and trans are the same across all GT trims (less the PP2, which is manual only). I personally like all the comfort bits, but they just add weight to the car if your goal is a track/strip machine.
Edit:
Actually, I forgot to mention that the base model doesn't have the mode switches. A tune can emulate the effects of those though. Basically they just change the throttle sensitivity, and the transmission shift points. Makes a huge difference in how the car responds, but again, can be emulated with a tune.
Just want to clarify this because another member bought a PP1 package car thinking it had options check marked. The pp1 package has staggered wheel setup, brembo fronts, 3.55 rear gearing on autos and k-member/strut tower braces. Driving modes and or exhaust are not part of the package. Driving modes come standard with all packages 301a, 400a, and 401a (the large screen radio display can be an easy indicator of drive modes). Active exhaust is a standalone optionim doing the same thing. After racing dragbikes for 30 years im going to a car.I bought a 18 mustang pp1 with magnaride suspension and active exhaust. The pp1 has a 355 gear and the exhaust you can open up anytime with a button. The suspension has a drag set up also.I have put bmr cradle lock outs and vertical up rights to stop wheel hop.Running the stock rear tires. The plan will be later to replace stock air filter. And a 93 tune.Ive been waiting on an open track.
