Bought a new Borla touring catback and installed it last weekend. My previous setup was a Lethal H pipe with stock mufflers.

The Borla is MUCH louder inside the cabin now. And it has loud drone right at 2k RPM.

Any ideas of what could be causing the drone? Connections look clear, and tight.

Something's not right somewhere but you said you checked all connections so not sure ... ensure the tips are past the bumpers edge more than they are now is all I can suggest.

Is this the Borla with resonator or FRPP version? I heard the FRPP version may drone a little if you try to accelerate on 6th gear around 2000 rpm.

Check your hangers to make sure the only part touching the car is inside the rubber. If you have it too far back/forward and the vertical part of the hanger is touching, you will get some drone.

This. That exhaust should not drone.

I just replaced my Borla touring catback because of how loud it was inside the cabin. It didn't drone, but was definitely noticeable at any rpm. I'd check for leaks and any loose metal on metal contact.

That's interesting. I am really surprised to hear that you think it's loud. I mean you can definitely hear it inside the cabin but in my opinion it sounds perfect. It's got that deep classic musscle car sound to it. I have take the car on road trips with the wife and neither of us got annoyed by it. What set up are you running right now?

My setup is just CAI and Tune. I'm going to go through the system again and make sure nothing is touching. I know for sure everything is tight.

I had Borla s-type axle backs with H pipe. Zero drone from any RPM. I have Roush axle backs and H pipe. Still no drone.

I switched to Corsa touring axleback last week. It's perfect for me. Just a tad quieter outside, but much quieter inside. But that's the beauty of the aftermarket, there's something for everyone. I do miss how deep the Borla was though.

Something has to be wrong, I've had the borla touring on for over a year and love them. Yes you have a little more interior noise but this will happen with any low sounding aftermarket exhaust. I had flow masters American muscle installed for less than a day before I ripped them off, now that's drone!!

I expect exhaust sound when I'm on the pedal. But this constant drone at 2k is killing me.

I'm planning on tearing it down tonight and redoing all connections again.
