Go to google play market. Install SuperSU. Give it root permission with KingRoot. Uninstall KingRoot and update the binary when you open SuperSU. That should work for almost any Android devices. I believe [MENTION=21083]PatrickHenninger[/MENTION] did it too... However, be careful now that you're root.WOHOOO So I fixed my good apps problem.
I installed the Kingo Root (I would wait for someone who knows more than me to suggest a better root if possible, this one is annoying).
I had to go to system/apps and rename maps.apk to maps.apk.bak then install the latest maps apk from the web. Once done Google Maps was an option for navigation to use!!
I still haven't worked out getting the play store into the apps launcher though.
