I would absolutely love to know where this thing is pulling oil pressure data from since it is not getting it from the oil pressure sender that is not installed....

Me too! Next step before swapping sensors will be disconnect the original sensor and see if I get a light.

The problem with the V6 is that there's no V6 PP from factory on the other hand for the GT & EB the tuner can just use the calibrations of the PP model and throw them in the tune file...

Zach, I unplugged the single wire sensor and started the car, gave her a couple revs and nothing happened. No oil light or anything and the oil pressure on the digital dash said"normal".

It likely turns a light on when there is no pressure.

That can't be either since I had my sensor wire grounded to the engine for a time and had no oil pressure light. (before I knew that an unplugged sensor didn't do anything)

K, I'm gonna stick a fork in this one. The values I see are consistent with what I should expect to see. I guess the new sensor is not necessary. No issues whatsoever since flashing the ECU. Kind of crazy, I've had the tune file for months but just assumed it would cause the oil light to come on.

This is the only conclusion I can come to as well since there is NO other sending unit connected to any oil passage on the engine.

Your SCT tune is incorrect. Thats why you get the error message from the IPC

I think what is happening with the V6 is that the tune is changing what the pcm is looking for in terms of the oil pressure switch. The EB base oil switch is on a completely different circuit then the V6. The V6 oil switch is on the same circuit as the EB oil pressure sender would be on a PP. So my running theory right now is that the V6 needs the pp sender since the pp sender works differently then the base switch. The EB is fine because it has that other circuit that isn't effected by the tune.
