Tesla style head unit for the S550?

I think I have the latest Torque Pro .apk somewhere. I'm sure we can add that OBDLink MX (ForScan) on the car with that app as well. It'll be nice to know if it has a sim slot for sure but if not there's always a work around... We could use our phone as Hotspot (For rooted Android phones is pretty easy to bypass the ISP restriction lol).

Yeah ive been using my phone as a hotspot to get traffic on google maps. The unit also has android mirroring through bluetooth or tethering, or iphone airplay, the unit mimics and apple tv and thats how an iphone connects to it

Sound pretty good! I wish I could buy that unit and custom the crap out of it I need to buy some new tires and wrap my car though... Maybe later on down the road

I spoke with the manufacturers directly today, and they are interested in having a US Based distributor, which I have offered to do, as well as providing them with updated verbiage, pictures, video, and installation instructions. They are going to start by sending me 8 units, which will still sell through them, but be shipped directly from me in Eastern NC. I will also be the exchange hub for issues and returns.

That's pretty damn good! Wonder how much you'll sell them or if you're ready to send me a test unit. I'll send it back if you ever need to sell it. (I won't install it in my car just on my benchtest and mess around with it.)

How many of you would be interested of having Android Auto on that unit? I'm doing a POC (Proof Of Concept) right now and so far I was able to make my Nexus 7 running as an Android Auto unit (same kinds of what it is in the newer car)... I used my phone to connect to my Nexus 7 via wireless and I got Android Auto working... The audio is still kinda weird but I'm working on it... I will post my POC later on. I wish I could put my hand on one of those unit so bad right now...!

Any chance we can get the bluetooth phone app pulled and ready to install on another android device? I have wanted to build an entirely custom unit for some time based on android but have been unable to do so because of the lack of phone integration. That phone app coupled with your android auto would be perfect!
