All,

I'm about to hop in the car and drive to the shops for an HPDE tech inspection and hopefully an alignment.

I know that this info is somewhere in the bowels of this forum, but for the life of me I can't find it. I'm looking for the track alignment settings for a GT350R and despite my best searching it's not coming up.

I understand I can't get the full camber without plates, but I'l looking for the best it can do stock.

Thank you!

If you take the two front strut bolts out (to the knuckle) and grind off the knurling, you will have room to adjust the camber before tightening them down. You can get to the Ford recommended settings without camber plates this way.

Will you report back with how much negative camber you are able to achieve in stock form please? thanks

Thank you all!

Where is the HPDE?
It's a Lone Star Region PCA event at MSR Houston. Rain forecast on Saturday, Sunday is supposed to be clear. Fingers crossed.

Will do. I've read that -1.25 is about the max people can achieve without camber plates or modifying the strut bolts. I wouldn't mind something between street and an aggressive track setup anyway. Stock is -0.70, target is -1.75, so -1.25 would seem to split the difference.

OK- Thanks. I was hoping it was at a local track so I could come and spectate. My car is not broken in so I have a few months to go for track eligibility...

Wondering it might be worth my while to have an alignment done as well. For one just to ensure that the factory alignment isn't screwed up as many have reported, but secondly perhaps a slightly more aggressive alignment, like you are suggesting could prolong the life of the Cup 2's for semi-aggressive back road driving?

You going to leave your alignment then as is for street use??

I've been contemplating the same thing.

Depends on where they end up with camber, but I think so. I'm not going to pay for back-and-forth alignment. I'm happy to compromise.

I had the shop at MSR Houston attempt a track alignment. They couldn't get any more negative camber. So, camber plates will be on order.

The Cup Sport 2s took a beating this past weekend, with the outer half showing some significant wear. I hope to get at least another weekend out of them with the camber set correctly.

So no additional negative camber whatsoever???? What were the final settings on the alignment?

Thanks,

H.

What is the purpose of the bolts? Does it allow more adjustment thus negating the need for camber plates?
